LAME! I can't post!

My normal nickname is Jezebel, but that account won't allow me to post. I keep getting the message "You cannot make another post so soon after your last; please try again in a short while." Uh, yeah, I made a total of like two posts today, and the last one was over an hour ago. It's also not posting the correct person who replied in a thread in the forum index, even though more replies show up when the threads are clicked on. Posts that I already read are showing up in yellow. I tried logging out, closing the browser, and logging back in, but I get all the same errors. LAME! Have any changes been made to the forum lately to cause this?

This account seems to work for making new posts, so it must be some setting tagged on to my other account. Any ideas what would cause that problem?

The new replies not showing up is still a problem though.

Hmmm....I tried a new topic in the the pub. Timed out.

I see someone made a new post in the Mature area...it's not showing up.


Same problem happened last week but time seems to have sorted it out (unless there was some backend stuff happening). ???

My posts have timed out several times before, but this is the first time I got an actual error saying that I was doing something wrong. I just logged into my other account and I still get the same error saying that I'm trying to post too soon after my last post. This is so weird... this account and the other account don't even look the same when it comes to the latest posts!

More weirdness:

my theme has changed from subsilver (I think) to helius (I think). It did this twice, and I never touched anything in the preferences.

Some of the replies in the threads didn't show up... the first time, I thought I had just looked over them, but I'm quite sure they weren't there before. And the usernames of these posts, which are over the posts I already read, are showing up as the last ones who posted on the "view new posts" page.

This weird stuff is ONLY happening on THIS forum, so I don't think it's something on my end rather than the site. Has the site gone berserk? Anyone else noticing weird happenings on the forum tonight?

I am having all of the same problems, except I can post. The mature section indicates a new post, but I am unable to see it. A post I made in the "local pub" appears before instead of after those who had made earlier posts there. I am randomly logged out as I navigate through the forum. 3 login attempts have prompted an "inactive user" status.
I also noticed earlier that users who had not been on for hours, were left alive in the active user section. We may have ghosties... :ph34r:

mmmmm.. ok.. trying clearing you cookies and logging in again? I 'optimized' the database tables but I don't know if that will have any affect.. please let me know..
I checked the phpbb site to see about the latest phpbb release but it doesn't seem to mention any issues similar to this... so.. mmm hopefully optimizing the tables fixed this.
