If your score on a scale is 1-3, you are fairly well balanced on the two dimensions of that scale.
If your score on a scale is 5-7, you have a moderate preference for one dimension of the scale and will learn more easily in a teaching environment which favors that dimension.
If your score on a scale is 9-11, you have a very strong preference for one dimension of the scale. You may have real difficulty learning in an environment which does not support that preference.

Has anyone read Cynthia Tobias's book The Way They Learn? It's designed to describe how children learn. I don't have any kids, but read it a few years ago and found it very informative. That's when I first heard of the concept of global and sequential learning, along with several related concepts. It was a big help to my husband in understanding some of our differences. happppy

Is MBTI type reflected here in any way?
I would guess that ACT vs Refl might be connected to E vs I and probably Ti in particular will make people go towards Ref.

Sens vs Int goes without saying I guess.

What about Vrb vs Vis? Any correlation here? Probably not, since most people are more visual than verbal, but any thoughts on the matter?

Seq vs Global probably correlates to some extent both to N and P, but I only have some vague ideas about why. Thoughts?

I predict a fairly strong trend towards:
Males - visual
Females - verbal.
And I've been here before.

Not much imagination or insight involved in that prediction. So says this very visual/spatial female. I work w/and am related to a wide variety of types, and very few of the males I know outside of my own sibs are visual/spatial. Other guys I work and play w/rely on me for maps, layouts, etc., as well as trouble-shooting problems and anticipating effects [like finding their way out of the woods], all the time.

It's not sex-linked, guys. You just like to think it is.

It's possible that these extremes were created due to me thinking a lot lately about how I think and act, causing me to give myself a personality (also influenced by MBTI) which I look at rather than my actual actions. But if that's not spot on, it's at least very close. I have a terrible time with remembering visual stuff. Even faces.

All the commentary is like: if you are a global learner (which you told us several times in the quiz) you should realize that you need to learn things globally. Not so useful.

Huh, I was actually surprised that my preferences were not more balanced. Also, except for the visual/verbal questions, it seemed like most of the rest of the questions were variations on the S/N theme. It seems to me that anyone who showed high intuitive preference would also most likely show high global preference, and to a lesser extent high referential preference (or maybe that's just my Ti talking...)
