View Full Version : The Election Game

Just a random theory, with no real evidence to back it up whatsoever:
Is the upcoming election set up? Is it all a big game? What if?
What do you guys think?

Can you elaborate on this hypothetical a little bit?
Nothing in politics isn't planned, or so they say.

Ok, lets say that the president has already been determined. The whole thing is a mock election to trick the people into thinking they have a voice. This has been known to happen in other countries.
The whole thing is a mock election to trick the people into thinking they have a voice.
Is that a conclusion or a hypothetical reason?

Just a little bit of both. I mean look at who they nominated to represent the Democratic party. It doesn't appear to be an accident to me. He says all of the wrong things, has a questionable history as an anti-american, his own party turning on him....ect...
Looks like Bush will win no matter what. Whether or not anyone likes it, I belive thats exactly whats going to happen. It all just seems like an elaborate plan. Is this possible?

I feel ignorant even suggesting such a thing without facts to back it up...
But the polls show them neck and neck...you think Kerry will choke as November comes closer?

You must have forgotten 2000, when instead of actually electing a president we had one appointed by the Supreme Court.
I'm not trying to defend some strange conspiracy theory, but how can anyone know what, exactly, is going on in higher level politics, and for what purpose?

I agree with BritainOphira, I'm not terribly into conspiracy theories, but it feels as if we are being slowly moved into some kind of dictatorship. I also get the feeling that Bush wishes himself to be some kind of Christian Dictator, too. You know when he was Govenor or Texas he proclaimed June 10th as Jesus Day? How can someone DO that? He has no religious power at all, how can he just claim a day as a religious holiday like that? Sure if the pope wanted to, I wouldnt be asking questions.. but everything Bush stands for frightens me a little.
I'd be amused to see certain groups sponsoring the election coverage.

Yeah, well, it was just in case that whole "Christmas" thing wouldn't catch on.

I used to get involved with conspiracy theories. They appeal to a sort of wishful thinking that you are one of an exclusive few who know the real truth behind everything. It is a lot like religion. Maintain your skepticism with discipline when investigating these things. Remember, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
If this were really a mock election, then the Illuminati are doing a very fine job with their puppet show. They are very effectively manipulating the primary election results in every state, mastering control of the major and minor media, silencing the whistleblowers, and engineering the politics of not just the United States but also of the enitre world like an omnipotent deity.
If I got wind of this, I would try to hunt down the evidence for it and threaten to release it unless I got a high-ranking position in the conspiracy.

Pro wrestling is like that too.
In the sense that they always seem to pick 2 wrestlers that are seemingly equal, but the winner is already determined. Perhaps not the best comparison, but you get my point. It all makes for a good show.

Remember, extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
I think it would be more extrodinary to have a country that wasn't being controlled and planned with fake elections than one that is a becon of democratic hope. It's human nature to want to control others. If you ask me, the extrodinary claim is that the elections aren't rigged.

I read this yesterday, and brought it up to a good friend of mine. He agrees with you (INTJ, hehe) and gave some good reasons why he believes so.
One is the fact that they are instituting the electronic polls, "there will be no paper trails, no evidence" of what people -really- voted for.
That was the one that struck me the most.

The countries that have rigged elections are the countries like Iraq under Saddam Hussein. The elections are explicitly fixed out of the threats of force. If you vote for anyone besides the incumbent, you are killed or thrown in jail and tortured.
The secret fixing of elections is a bit more rare, I believe. My knowledge is bit too limited, so I am open to being convinced otherwise.
In this country, you have not just the presidential elections but state, county, and city elections that elect governors, judges, commissioners, representatives, department chiefs, etc. Do you think it is normal for all of those small elections to be rigged as well? If not, then claiming that the US presidential elections are rigged is indeed an extraordinary claim. The votes are cast on the same ballots and counted by the same people who count the small elections.

That's the thing about conspiracy theories. The more you argue about them, the more the conspiracies have to expand to include more and more people until it finally includes everyone but yourself.

Every one, quick, he's one of them! Kill 'em!!!!!
The reason I think it's probable that some elections are secretly rigged is that if I were in power I would do it in the blink of an eye.

Me too, if it were possible to pull it off, and that is the tricky part.
