Can you tell us more about it, like why are the states divided in that way and what inspired the combination of the cross with a map of Australia?

when i started it, at the tender age of 17, i did not remember where the areas of desert were, and all the rest of it, i just started painting with what i thought were the physical colours as seen from space, stylised of course. the cross is just a small part of the celtic idea i was going with, but a drawing i did of it in watercolours that got wet and looked awesome inspired the painting, inside the state borders you mention are, in 2b pencil, some intricate knotwork.

it has no real meaning behind it, other than to look aesthetically pleasing, and a big up yours to everyone who says this is an aboriginal nation with an aboriginal culture, fuck em, i live here too and i am not an aboriginal

i ought to show you the ruby bit on the inside, i've every intention of replacing the gold with real gold, the rd with real ruby and the black line with onyx
