View Full Version : Why Does This Picture Creep Me Out?

The ghost thread got me thinking about pictures like this. I recently stayed in a haunted hotel, and spent far too much time awake. More recently though, I spent the night in a bed and breakfast where this picture was outside my door. I popped awake after about three hours of sleep and my wife was pointing at the ceiling, saying "look." A weird floating shadow moved for a few seconds. Then a car came down the road, with its lights shining through our window, and turned to the left, fading the room back to darkness.

Of course my wife doesn't remember talking in her sleep. And I probably just freaked myself out once I heard "there's positive paranormal activity in the house."

Either way, I hate these things. They creep me out.

No, I see what you mean, it is creepy somehow. The shade of red and something about her eyes & cheeks look fearful. I am guessing the guy who painted her is something wicked. There is something in her cheeks that tells you she is fearful I think.

lol. She was watching you sleep. Does the fact that she's probably dead play into it? My dad had an old black and white picture of my dead grandmother (with just her lips painted red) that I had never met. He choose to hang it up in the hallway right outside of my room. I was scared of the dark, so the hallway light stayed on, and the door was kept open. All I could do is stare at it all night, hoping she wouldn't start talking ghostly gibberish to me. One night, I even had a dream that she stuck her head out of the picture, and just peered out at me like she was going to pounce, and suffocate me. I'm getting scared even talking about it.

Also, do you belive in "talisman"?

Not particularly. I do believe that energy takes many different forms though.

I am scared of mirrors for reasons I will not discuss now, but perhaps because her countenance looks "angelical" and she looks at you as if she knew something.

I write on my mirrors with dry erase markers. Put motivational quotes on them and change them every now and then.
Nothing creepy about the picture to me.
