You may experience a déjà vu, and for a reason, since this test has been posted at the old forum. Anyway, some of you guys may be interested in this, so here's the link.

MMDI test (http://www.teamtechnology.co.uk/mmdi-re/mmdi-online.html)

My results were, shall we say, interesting. My four highest results were INTJ and INFJ both 307, INTP and INFP both 247.

Ack, am I becoming an INFJ?

Anyway, here are the scores for each function:

Fe 7
Fi 18
Ne 8
Ni 25
Se 0
Si 17
Te 7
Ti 18

So, my Feeling and Thinking tie, and my dominant function should be Ni. That's why the test thought I was a J, but then again, my introverted Judging functions have higher scores than extraverted ones... which shouldn't be the case of a J.

But I wasn't the least bit surprised by having zero points for Se. I'm horrible at any Se activities. :P

This is the first test that has marked me INTJ.

Your personality preferences are reported as: INTJ. The MMDI has come to that conclusion by matching the responses you gave with those expected by each of the 16 personality types.

You're right!

This test scored me INTP 299, INTJ 275, ISTP 264 as the top three. I had
noticed depending on the "tack" I took towards answering things on the human metrics MBTI questionnaire that I would get these type results.

Also, reading the type descriptions I could see lots if INTP, quite a bit of INTJ and a bit of ISTP that I found applicable.

This test helps confirm my independent observations and leaves me fairly confident in my actual type. This was troubling me a bit as a number of the members here don't quite fit my conception of INTP behaviour and I was growing concerned I had mis-typed myself.

Ack, am I becoming an INFJ?

Well this explains why you subconsciously labeled the old forum "infp" ;)

ARGH! I've begun the transition into an ESFJ... first the F, then J, probably E will be the next!

I scored as an ISFP. However, I noticed that the "degree of match" values on my test were much lower than the ones y'all reported and decided for no good reason to simply select the Submit Data button without entering any information whatsoever. I scored ESFJ with values that were more in line with what you guys are reporting.

Is this test worth anything?

Edit: Too bad, cause some of the questions were about what was easiest for me, not what I preferred, and that was interesting.

Se is 0. Se is always 0 for me. Se is zero with you all too, from what I see. Has any INTP here taken this test and NOT gotten a zero Se?

For me, the only clear dividing line is N-S. I'm always strong N, but near no preference on the others. I'm a little surprized I typically test INTP or at least INTJ because the margins are always so small.

Se was 3 for me when I answered the questions. But since you can enter no info whatsoever and receive scores and personality preference anyway, I'm skeptical.

Too lazy to take the test again - last time I got INTJ, INTP, INFP as three first. However the INTJ and INTP change places every now and then. Last time, my functions' order was:
Ni: 19

Fi: 11

Fe: 2
Se: 0

Huh, go figure...

I actually came up INFP, which makes sense cause I have a vacillating T/F preference and score 5w4 on the enneagram.

I would also like to stress that, "The map is NOT the territory."
I guess that since we are on an INTP board, everyone would like to stress their INTP'ness. But I urge people not to shape themselves to fit a description. Be who you are naturally and let someone find a description to fit you.
Plus, the only thing that is constant is change.

It was the same for me...I had the highest scores on Ti ("our" primaray function) and Ni (primary function for INTJs), and much lower on Ne ("our" auxiliary function).
I ended up as INTJ in that test, but very close to INTP (it's normally the other way around).

I actually wonder where Ni is supposed to fit in among the INTP's functions, because we obviously have it.

Your personality preferences are reported as: ISTP. The MMDI has come to that conclusion by matching the responses you gave with those expected by each of the 16 personality types.

The table (below) shows the degree of match between your scores and those preferred by each type (a higher score indicates a closer match)

Te score was way too high, methinks. And I agree that this is not very reliable. The test would need vast number of questions to reach its goal of measuring the relative score of each individual function.
Otherwise, reading individual function descriptions, it kinda makes sense.
I think the Ti - Ne - Si - Fe approach might be fundamentally flawed, and it is only relevant in the sense that if one has dominant Ti (or Ni), its diametrical opposite Fe (or Se) would be would be inferior. The P/J tells only whether the most prominent extraverted function is an irrational (perceiving) or a rational (judging) function.
Curiously, I get fairly equal scores for Ne and Si consistently, and the tug-of-war between the two is ultimately far more consuming than the T/F dilemma I've been struggling with.
(I've observed this in myself years before I knew anything of MBTI. I hate my Si. It reminds me of some less desirable traits in some of my family members.)

Edited to add:
The forced-choice questions. Of course those are required to determine preference. But then the lack of preferable choice. An example.
For each of the following pairs of statements, indicate which you dislike most
a) people telling others how they should do things
b) people getting emotional about their own beliefs
Both of those annoying the living hell out of me.

By priniciple, MMDI is the best form for discovering your personality preferences because it rates function-attitudes individually instead of simply T vs. F or whatever. And I can only hope that the test delivers accurate scores or else my conclusions will also be inaccurate, but here goes:

For advanced users only: the preference scores you achieved for each of the Jungian function-attitudes are in the table below.

Fe - 0
Fi - 7
Ne - 2
Ni - 6
Se - 9
Si - 13
Te - 8
Ti - 15
Bluehaze, for example, is confused between his J and P preferences, so I looked at his 'scores' and his function strengths are in this order:

Ti, Si, Se, Te, Fi, Ni, Ne, Fe

Definitely very high on the T and S, with Fe (0) being his weak point and Ne (2) being his second weakest (sensing-thinker). His Se is highly developed (so is his Te) in proportion to the rest of his function preferences, which leads me to believe that he is quite capable of extraverting when he needs to. Therefore I conclude (if the results are accurate) that Bluehaze is most like an ISTP 'crafter' artisan (Ti,Se).

His external sensory experiences (Se) feed the strong internal thinking and internal sensing aspects of himself. And with proper support from Te, he is quite capable of noticing order and inconsistencies (a J trait) to further structure his personality. At least that's my guess.

Descriptors for this person might be: Perceptive, Action-oriented, Cold, Logical, somewhat reserved.

I would need input from BlueHaze to see if its accurate or not.

Ni Ti Fi Si Ne Te Fe Se

The following asessment of my self shows me the following:

- Four strongest functions are inward directed (NTFS)
- Four strongest extraverted functions are matched with internal (NTFS)
- Strongest Function (both orientations) is Intuition

Combined with the fact that I'm an enneagram type 4 w 5 (who tend to be fairly self-absorbed individuals) would might lead me to believe that type 4's have a high skewing towards introverted preferences (some INFJs can also be typed as fours). Of course i'd need more data on that.

CC is a type 4 w 3 (introverted-intutive :: feeling type bordering on T) and I'd like to see what her ratings are so I can get a better picture of this conclusion.

Skimming through the test results on this thread, it seems that most INTPs are indeed dominant Ni [hint: Socionics ].

I'm willing to bet that a lot of INTJs who take this test will turn out dominantly T.

Of course, the MMDI can be highly flawed. Most people who take it seem to get results that are inconsistant with their actual type.

...On the other hand, how did they determine their actual type in the first place? By taking the MBTI and Keirsey tests? The fact that MMDI gives very different results than the MBTI or MBTI-like tests doesn't necessarily mean the MMDI is flawed. It could be the MBTI and similar tests that are flawed.

Or maybe the simple truth is that different testing methods will always yield different test results.

......On the other hand, I don't think Socionics is completely right either. Why even assume that the J/P has anything to do with dominant or auxiliary functions? Perhaps J/P is a whole separate category from functions. Maybe it's connected to other things, such as birth order, or left- and right-brain hemispheres, etc.. In that case, there will be INTPs who are dominant Ni and INTPs who are dominant Ti, which means that Socionics and Myers-Briggs theory are both wrong about the J/P's connection to functions.

In the end, I think, the only reliable way to determine true type is through doing function analysis and self-analysis. ....And ignoring the J/P. :D

As usual, everything here is just my unpassionate but twisted opinion. :D ;)

INTJ - 315 Ni - 25
INFP - 302 Fi - 20
ENTP - 269 Ne - 19
ISTP - 262 Si - 6
ISFP - 207 Te - 5
ENTJ - 143 Fe - 0
ESFJ - (-7) Se -0

Note: I almost exclusively answered each questions with a far right or far left answer. I had a hard time finding any gray areas in these questions. I loved how the results gave me Ti, Ni, etc, etc, but i wish there were more questions. Has anyone found a test like this but with more questions?? Id love to see that.

I agree that the amount of questions is not enough, and also that MMDI indicates where you are currently at in terms of function use and less so of overall temperament. Still its a useful measurement.

I noticed that Ni seems to be quite high for some INTPs. Maybe its possible that the Ni function is actually Ne, but directed inwards due to lack of development/maturation/extraversion. 19-23 year olds seem to be the most confused about their J/P preferences. But I think strong Ti/Fi preferences indicate a P type moreso then strong Ni preference indicates a J type (J types seem to have strong Te/Fe).

I got INTJ primary, I'm going to have to go read the profile again.

*Edit* I really don't think so. The only parts that really match are the ones in common with INTP.

187 - INFJ

066 - ISFJ
061 - ISTJ
052 - ESFJ

023 - ESTP

I might buy INFJ, or INFP, because I was certainly more INF-ish when I was really little. However, I don't see INTJ at number two..

Of course, submitting blanks gave me ESFP first, then ISTJ on every consecutive try. Not sure how accurate the thing is.

De Nile isnt just a river in Egypt you know.

Yeah, OK I just wanted to say that. But you are sure you are INTP right? Its kinda shocking because i'm psuedo-INFP right now and still scoring as a T (confident the Psuedo INFP is a 'phase' as I've been a T all of my life), so it is strange that such a self-confidently INTP person would score as an F and deny it. Unless it was true of course, and calls into question the accuracy of the MMDI. Damn.

I believe this is why Keirsey has abandoned assigning extroversion and introversion to the individual percieving and judging preferences.

I agree as to there not being enough questions on this test, especially as the numbers in the results look (at least look) somewhat granular. Here are my scores

The first time I took this test, it said I was an ISTP. As if. The second time, I was typed as an ISFJ/INFJ, which is far from correct. I had a good idea about which function each question corresponded to, and I found myself questioning the results I received.

The first time I took this, it called me an INFP. :horrified gasp: (just kidding) I am not an INFP.

The second time, it called me an ISTP. or ISTJ. I can't remember. But I'm not either of those.

Boooo, test. Needs improvement.

I was bored (read: I needed to do something more productive with my time, but didn't want to), and had a theory. So, I copied all of the posted function scores into Excel. Here are the results (a sum of 32 entries):

Fe: 55
Fi: 418
Ne: 369
Ni: 636
Se: 32
Si: 299
Te: 250
Ti: 613

Let's rank 'em, shall we?

1: Ni
2: Ti
3: Fi
4: Ne
5: Si
6: Te
7: Fe
8: Se

Note that 3 of the 4 extraverted functions are ranked at the bottom, and 3 of the 4 introverted functions are ranked at the top. I suspect Ne throws it off a bit, because we all know and love Ne. Otherwise, I suspect we're all scoring very high on introverted function either because we're freaking hermits, or because the test-takers themselves are confusing functions. Or maybe both.

Just for fun, let's merge the introverted and extroverted functions together!

F: 473
N: 1005
S: 331
T: 863

Ranking?

1) N
2) T
3) F
4) S

How handy - that's the function order both for ENTP and INTJ. Maybe each of us is really one of these two types? :p

--------------

Going back to my own:
F: 16
N: 26
S: 4
T: 14

Giving me
1) N
2) F
3) T
4) S

Which could be ENFP or INFJ. Maybe that's why some of my results came out that way..

Personality testing (especially with respect to E's vs. I's) may be influenced by the environment. When we switch from I to E, the extraverted functions swap with the introverted functions:

INTP: Ti Ne Si Fe
ENTP: Ne Ti Fe Si

It is not a major change going from I to E, especially if you are on the line. Imagine if the test had a question such as this:

Do you like to:
Share your ideas with others ****** Keep your ideas to yourself.

Now, take into account that some/many of us really do not relate to other people well. Sure, introverts are drained by socialization, but is that in all cases or in most cases? INTP's can seem extraverted in certain situations. Most of the people (family, friends, etc) I have to deal with are SJ types, and most of those who aren't SJ are SP. In fact, I would bet the only INTP's I have ever met were college professors. I don't believe I would be the completely asocial person that I am if it wasn't for this.

The questions aren't that great. Plus, a lot of them I didn't have any preference for. I've taken the test a few times and I've gotten different results each time.

I don't think I like this test very much. It's very shallow and general.

Interesting...

In order of preference:

INFJ 330; INFP 312; INTJ 285; ISFP 237
ENFP 230; INTP 213; ENFJ 212; ENTP 185
ISFJ 165; ISTP 138; ESFJ 137; ISTJ 120
ENTJ 113; ESFP 65; ESTJ 38; ESTP 20

Ni 25; Fi 22; Ne 15; Ti 13; Fe 12; Si 10; Te 3; Se 0

This is the first time I have tested INFJ. I have tested INFP and INTJ, but I almost always test INTP. This test probably has some problems; it doesn't seem to be consistent with others. They do mention that they are still researching it, so maybe it will improve with time. When I read basic type descriptions, INFJ is the one that fits me least out of the INxx family. Also, the particular choice of questions caused me to prefer "F" responses since the individual situations in many cases happened to be those in which I would have preferred the "F", but if the test was a lot longer and more inclusive of a variety of situations, "T" probably would have edged out "F".

3 highest scores were
INTP = 199
INTJ = 190
ISTP = 169

For advanced users only: the preference scores you achieved for each of the Jungian function-attitudes are in the table below.

Fe Fi Ne Ni Se Si Te Ti
0 8 7 14 1 8 7 15

I would've thought my second highest score would be INFP, even though I don't find myself all that much like an INFP. When I did the myers briggs test my F and T were really close. Does anyone know about the accuracy of this test?

Architectonic

The tests accuracy is rather questionable in my opinion.

I've done it a few times and have come out as INFJ and INTJ more often than INTP.

Hmm...my top 3 were INTP, INTJ, and ENTP:

INTP - 82%
INTJ - 80%
ENTP - 79%

Close call, which is interesting.
