View Full Version : Vote your favorite theme!

We must get rid of a couple of themes. You see, when you mod one of the themes, you'll have to make the same mod to all of the themes, and that would mean editing a lot of files if we've got a lot of different themes.
So, in order to reduce file cabinet's workload, we'll keep only four or five different themes. You guys can decide. Just vote your favorite theme in this poll, and those themes that get the least amounts of votes will be deleted. Maybe I'll set the winning theme as the forum's default as well.
Edit: Apparently Eos doesn't work, so I deleted it from the list. Damn. :( And I realized I hadn't added subSilver to the options, although I thought I had. Uhh.

My vote is Helius, but Eos is clean as well. B)

Hm, I just realized I get an error with Eos when I try to view a topic... <_<

I got the same error, but then it worked fine after a few minutes. I like Jenova, but I wish the colors were a bit brighter.

Weird. Meh. <_<
I asked file cabinet what the error meant and if it could be fixed. We'll see...

I'm using Helius as the best of the bunch, but I really would hint hint, consider 'Chronicles' the walnut coloured one I mentioned on the Christening....

The fonts are pleasing 18th centurally (? did I just invent a word ? ) weird too.
Most of the present selection are a bit techno-pop. Anyway I liked your theme on the earlier forum

Still the colours of Helius, apart from the sun-yellow, do set off my avatar pleasingly: so I'd use it for a change now and again...

Embarrassing: When you count the votes above take one off from Helius & give it to Eos or Eos Expanded ( can't see any difference between them, and I'm on a dial-up ).
Being, as is my favourite fictional hero, 'willing to try any drink once' I tried them after voting, and they go just as prettily with my avatar, but more cubily ( another invented word ! ).
But don't forget... 'Chronicles', once you've tried it, you never go back.

Still more Embarrassing:
Using Eos, each time I entered the message above I got file doesn't exist
so a/ disregard that recommendation of Eos
b/ The message entered three times so I'm editing this middle one to say this instead.
c/ There's no delete post button...

All of these themes are light. We should have at least one dark one.

I use subSilver, because the themes all feel a little too 'eye candy' for me.

Hm. The theme seems to be compatible with 2.0.9, but the demo didn't quite convince me, although the style was intriguing. If it wouldn't make forum modding harder, I'd add the theme pronto (as well as any theme that is requested), but now I'm a little hesitant.
Of course, if there are enough members who want that theme, I'll try it. If anyone else wants to check it out, the theme info is here (http://www.phpbbhacks.com/download/322).

Hm, see my reply to Claverhouse.
Though you're right, all the themes are quite light, quite techy, and quite blue-grey, so maybe a little variation was a good thing. If you find a nice dark theme you'd want installed, just post it in this thread or start a new one.
Anyway, I think we should just vote to get at least some results reasonably quickly. They're just themes, there are more important things to modify in this forum right now. Besides, the themes can be changed later, and one dark theme can be added later as well. (Boy, did that "it can be changed" sound like a stereotypical Perceiver!)

Ack! I'm glad I voted. The chunkstyle which is so close to my heart now was being ignored! :o

I like chunkstyle, helius, and subsilver--
found some dark ones, but it's difficult to know which would be best from the demos--the link again, for those interested in the darker templates:
Selections are here (http://www.phpbbhacks.com/templates.php)
Alphabetically, the skins are:
Ad Infinitum (Maybe too dark? Red and black and white. You can decide--there's a huge banner space, if we want to put something else there)
FI black 3D (jewel-like textures)
Solaris (outer space with big glowing orange planet)
Zerospace (mostly black with a little dark blue--luminescent)

I like chunkstyle best. I'm using it now.
