Decided to pull a Shai Gar. Or one of the many, many things pulling a Shai Gar could mean....

Actually let's disassociate from pulling a Shai Gar.

I would like to be banned for a month please. Want to focus on work, family and books, and that'll be easier if I don't have ya'lls sweet, sweet brains to feast on. And since this may be a request people'll use in the future, might as well have a thread.

I bequeath my Bitch Tits of Unholy Outrage to Mgbradsh. Keep the faith while I'm gone, brother.

You know what they say....

When we don't have each others' "sweet brains to feast on," we inevitably satisfy the urge through alternative means. Be sure to have your support network in place.

Or...I'm lying.

Your presence will be missed, I'm sure.

You're not worth my thirty seconds (that's a good thing... you're not enough of a jackass).

And if you leave, who will beat back the neanderthals?

No... the admins are not doing 30 day bans for everyone.

No... the admins are not doing 30 day bans for everyone. So I'll have to use self control? Damn you.

What would make me enough of a jackass? I try my hardest! Really I do!

She forgot to close her parentheses. Ban her ass.

meshou, I like you, but you are awfully full of yourself sometimes. ;)

EDIT: It seems like, in truth, a ban really does nothing for people who are determined to visit the site no matter what. . . a ban does nothing but draw attention and such and it actually has no way of preventing people who want to linger/read the site. . . there are things called schools and libraries and barnes and nobles.

((meshou))Yeah. But I am not in school, don't go online at the library, and going to Barnes and Noble just to go on the intraweb would require me not to be lazy.

I spend about 90% of my free time on the computer or with video games. I quit them both for a month a while ago. It was the worst month of my life. I just wasted my time in other(more boring) ways.

Meshou could get herself banned, but she seems reluctant to do that at this point.

(manipulation)

If you really wanted to be banned, there were things you could have done to increase your likelihood of succes. You shouldn't have asked to be banned for a month, for example. A month is such a random time period. If you had asked to be banned for 23 days and 5 hours, people would have assumed there had to have been a very good reason, because you're so specific about the duration of the time. If they would have asked why, you could preferably have responded with "I cannot tell you. I will let you know when I'm back". That would have made them curious, and even more willing to comply. Nothing motivates people more than a potential secret.

(/manipulation)

That is, of course, if you were really serious. I should like you to stay, personally, because you're one of the freshest people here.

A guy I know who has the self control of a four year old coke addict always makes bets with everybody when he wants to accomplish anything. He could not quit smoking, for example, until 5 different people bet with him that he couldn't do it.

On an entirly unrelated matter... are there any things you would really hate to do for people here, such as posting a picture of yourself in a bathing suit, or having to upload an mp3 of yourself singing a gospel song?

How hard would it be to write in a program that allows the user to put themselves on "vacation" ie. "banned for an x amount of time", where you can choose how long you are taking a vacation for?

We are openminded peoples come on; pro-choice!

Interesting. I'll have to consider doing that when I'm unhappy with my own procrastination, as I am sometimes. More often than I care to admit. But the "I" that is "unhappy" obviously seems to be less important than other "I's".

LOL. Oh meshou, sometimes I think you take the thoughts right of my mind...
I've been on this board only for a short while and I think I'm ready for a ban. I'm a chronic lateman too.

This board is one of the few things I can do at work, since the corporate info security nazis have blocked just about everything else. ... and like a true addict, I abuse this one "privilege" to the fullest extent.
