View Full Version : The "Where am I" Thread.

I like it when a question is asked here, and I solidify an answer, but drift towards an example, and end up in wondering how I got so far away from what it is I was doing - while laughing at myself once I realize what just happened.

This is a thread for that. Post the question. Then where you ended up. Give the process if you can.

RE: the compliment's thread:

1.) I forget to compliment.
2.) I seem to say "thanks" a lot, appropriately.
3.) I realized this when I was young and drinking from a brown plastic cup.
4.) My favorite color was brown as a kid.
5.) Weird.
6.) Post about it!
7.) Anyone wanna play a game?
8.) You are here.

:)

Clarification requested.

Is this a thread to post how INTPs can go off on tangents? Co-tangents?

Yes. Exactly.

I was going to post that you needed to clarify.. but then I thought maybe someone else would say it or they would understand what they were saying and would post a relevant reply

?????????????????..

essentially, you're thinking of something, then your mind goes off on a tangent based off on the original topic .. and co-tangents and so on and so forth. int just wanted to see posts that had a step-by-step look at this process...
for example..
I am looking at pen..
I notice the pencap..
I used to collect pencaps..
but I threw them out..
they're probably in a landfill somewhere..
and then a bum finds them and uses them for his fetish.. but.. really? is he that desparate? ...
did you ever see the picture of that bum flipping ppl off?
he looked smelly
do I smell?
yeah.. I think so.. "axe deodarant" is pretty "laxe deodarant" har har har!!
..

except int wanted this to be more on the focus of a post from the forum.......
I think..

I don't think it's necessary to be forum related...

related...
I have some friends who are related.
But in a way all my friends are related.
Isn't that the point of relativity?

I've seen this done in real life... a group of people will get in a conversation, and start on some topic, and somehow get to a totally unrelated topic, and one will say "Now, how in the crap did the conversation get here?" and it'll get retraced. I think it would work better with multiple thought processes going at once.

It used to happen with my old history teacher.
We managed to go from talking about the USSR, to paper cars, then to volvos, then cess pits, then gold.

By the end we had done no work and had ended up in a debate about the Iraq war.

Going off at tangents is fun :D

Sarcastic...as long as we are in the moment.
...could be regarded as immaturity.

I was thinking about fake food and how I dislike Dr. B . So arrogant God can't stand him - I like the Sound of Music . Where is he , she's asking me . He's gone to the mountains and taken his children ; see them staring at the sun ... He's declared himself God... I really hate low carb ice-cream...

I went from 'co-tangent' to 'how I hate where I work' in a split second:
1) I believe you can go on a tangent, but can a thought process really go on a co-tangent? Isn't that a mathematical term?
2) I go off on more than tangents. I make hundreds of connections in a matter of seconds.
3) One of the connections is usually a mental 90 degree turn (or maybe a cotangent?), which makes me laugh.
4) I try to make a funny comment about my conclusion.
5) The comment usually has little to do with reality or the conversation at the moment.
6) The folks around me just stare at me with blank looks. I can feel them saying "there he goes again."
7) How come I can't make friends with these people?
8) I used to work at places where I laughed a lot and people 'got' me.
9) God, I hate working here!

Or am I the only one....

Used to have the same thing with our english teacher.

We'd walk in the class, one person would ask him a daft question like "why are submarines not called subaquas?" and then we'd all settle down for 40 minutes of listening to him prattle on about skyscrapers, planes, holidays and mexicans while we thought about the cheerleaders who would be at the rugby on saturday.

So, now that I think about it maybe I have met another INTP in flesh before!
