Here go a few photos I have taken of my bf. Dunno if they qualify as art, but here goes! (Btw, he's ENFP)

I really like the first one. Maybe it's the look on his face or the angle, I don't know. But I like it.

Edit: I was typing this while you posted two. I like the last one best.

Beautiful. The last one has stunning perspective, I think (the ball in the front and the lights in the back). I like your use/manipulation of shadows.

Lol, you should never encourage me. Here are some pics my bf took of me on the same night.

#2. You look careless, and I almot expect you to have a cheshire cat smile sprout any minute.

Madrigal

lol, was that cat freaky or what? He scared me. :)

Wow.

1. The light/shape of your upper body is captivating against that background.
2. Again, I like the the line-up/reflection of the lights as they align with your body. The way you are looking askance is intriguing.
3. You appear almost childlike in this one. Surrounded by many lights, you choose to look down. Somehow, I imagine you rocking yourself into oblivion.

That was very sweet. Never saw that many things...

You have a better photographic eye than the bf (although you are arguably better subject matter - both because you're a girl and someone we sort of know, and he's a stranger). I think you'd look better in his outfit too (white tank top and jeans). Good photos all around though.

The second billiards picture is pretty damn cool.

Thanks. About the clothes, well, the billiard pics were taken at what is probably the most traditional tango bar in Buenos Aires, ('Café Tortoni') so I dressed up tango-style for those. Though my bf probably wouldn't like me in his clothes, either, lol.

Nice photos. I particularly like the 1st billiards one and the 2nd featuring you.

They are all a little too dark but it might be the hi-contrast monitor I am using now.

Hi, thanks. Actually, the scanner I used made them a bit darker than they really are, there is a bit more texture in the originals. Could be the monitor, too, though. It's happened to me. :)

I love them too! Especially Doisneau. Here's my favourite photo by him:

I know the title is 'black and white photos', but I didn't want to start another thread for my stuff. So anyway, here goes a drawing I made of my bf, using a picture of when he was a little boy. I only like using pencil and don't draw in colors or paint. But I took a digital photo of the drawing and then photoshopped the colors into it to liven it up.

I chose this picture because he still smiles that way.

technically you can't see anything so I hope it isn't too x-rated :P

Thanks for posting those, Madrigal. I love your use of light in these two shots, as well as the simplicity and just the lines in them. The two most recent have a sharper black-white contrast than your previous shots, which makes for an interesting shift in mood if you look at them all together. I'd love to see more as you take them......

Are those primarily b/w or later converted to b/w?

Liked the first one...has athmosphere i could see. Could see what the second one was about too, but the brains refused to stop there and tried see and remember what forms or things the bright areas in the pic do remind.....So the watching experience became bit like undisclosed story.

Yes, I should also hope you post nothing too x-rated.

They're nice pictures, very artistic. Do you only photograph each other, or do you also take pictures of other people, and maybe things, when you see something worth shooting?

The film is black and white film, AGFA, 400 ASA. The same thing happened to me with the second pic. :)

Lol, don't worry, actually, I don't have anything too 'x-rated', and I don't think I will be doing that anytime soon.

Since we just started out with the photography thing, we have only taken pictures of each other, in controlled environments. But next time I'll be taking pictures outdoors on a cloudy afternoon. I'll stick to black and white.

Professional film and manual developing is way too expensive here, though. :(

I'm glad you liked them, I like high-contrast too. Next time I'll be focusing more on angles and themes, though. I'll see if I can post some 'rainy Buenos Aires' pics here next time. :)

I have a question for mods or admins, I uploaded photos on this thread a couple of years ago and I would like to know if there is some way to retrieve them, because they don't show up anymore. The person I took these photos with is burning them and I don't have a copy of all of them. I used to have them on yahoo photos but their service closed down. Screwed.

I don't see a way for a mod to look into it, but I asked the admins to.

I don't have any of the ones I took, and they were better than his. I think I had posted versions without that frame too.

I'm sure someone creepy saves a copy of everything you post. Just gotta get them to own up to it . . .

Those pool tables at that traditional restaurant don't even exist anymore! Grrr. I wanna go kill NFs right now. I don't even have the negatives and the scan job wasn't the greatest. Asshole.

I meant "mine were better than his" as in, "the ones that I took (of him) were better than the ones he took (of me)."

Update: he just called (it's 3:30 AM) to say he burnt them. Then I said I never want to talk to him again and he says he hasn't burnt them... yet. How fun. Who the fuck burns photos? Isn't that a little Hollywood?

Dunno. Fell asleep in a friend's apt once and when I woke up she was in the kitchen burning notes from an old BF. Hollywood, dramatic, Fish, impulsive; whatever.

Sorry to have bothered, yahoo migrated my photos to a photo site. Don't bother with this - in fact if someone can just delete it or put it in purgatory, that would be fine.
