at some boards I've been to the post count has become a hot button issue because members would denote themselves from others and assert their superiority because they have more posts then other ppl.. i.e., a user with 10,000 posts compared to a user with 200 posts... there were users who just post to post/spam to spam.. of course the argument comes up is quality versus quantity... so.. what eventually happened is that they disabled the display of a user's post count but then they started discriminating against users by their UID(user ID) so users that were in the top 1,000 were considered the 'elite' while users in the 20,000+ range were considered worthless dumbasses...
