As you can see, I added two new categories: Entertainment and Psychology Links.
Do you guys have ideas about new/different categories? It's easy to manage the categories now when there aren't that much posts yet, so if any of you has suggestions, I'm all ears. Or eyes in this case.
Many of you seem to be interested in optical illusions, jokes, word games and such (And why wouldn't an INTP be interested in those? :D) I'm wondering if you guys would want a separate category for them and other INTP silliness, or if The Local Pub will suffice for that. (Hm... INTP Silliness... that would make a great category name! :D)
I also thought of creating separate categories for MBTI and general psychology but realized it'll be pretty useless - all of our psych discussions seem to turn eventually into MBTI and typing.
I vote keeping the Pub for those things.

I think we do need a separate section for trivial pursuits. The pub serves well for off-topic seriousness.

Agree with Division56.
Anyway, I believe in making things as baroque as possible as early as possible. Saves so much time later. Leaving space for over-refinement and helpful bickering.

( Said elsewhere there should be a smilie for 'I'm going away to consider the matter; back later' Can't someone here invent one ? )
( Having seen a few posts on computer matters, here and at the old place, isn't it traditional for all groups on the web to have a forum devoted to the machines they are individually using etc., and tech stuff ? :D  :D )

A forum for females.. the female INTP experience is significantly different then a male's.

I am going to second a computer/technology forum.
A forum for females, hmmmm, well speaking as a female I don't think I would post much in that forum. Personally I am caught between the thought that my gender is irrelevant and the fact that biology and society say different.

I am with shaytana on this.

It would probably be mainly used by males anyway. :D

the idea came into my head from someone else who sounded rather insightful.. anyway..

I suppose this is true to some extent for all the types.
However, one of the fascinating things about this place is how hard it is to tell the gender of the posters just from their postings. Usually, on internet forums, I can spot the women a mile away. It is possible the women here are the first NT females I have encountered (at least knowingly). Perhaps it is the F-ness that I am clueing in on rather than gender (women are predominantly F as I recall).

I was wondering if there could be a place for creative people, I mean, just a place where we could post art (or links to art), poems, the like.
Just suggesting, thanks!
I agree, we might as well have a creative outlet.
And I think we should have a seperate category for more light hearted topics.

How about a category for humor?

So, let's see... categories for
Humor and lighthearted off-topic discussions (These could be the same category, no?)
Computers and technology
Art
Any other suggestions?
I also think a category for women specifically won't be needed at a forum mainly full of Thinking women... although being an INTP is probably more difficult for a woman than for a man because women are expected to be Feelers. But those topics can go to Psychology or Pub.

A category for women only encourages our differences. That's a "no no."
I strongly agree with both the Art and Computers/Tech categories.

I agree, the wimmens don't need their own category.
So, when is the Alt-sexer category coming?

The women's separate forum idea is an interesting one. I could see myself using it to talk about the expectations of society that women will be F's. But I can talk about that with guys around.
Why can't humor and light-hearted topics just go in the pub?

The pub is for off-topic. Not humor...

Humor is off-topic, though. Unless it's on-topic (e.g. MBTI) humor, but then it can be posted in the original topic that it pertains to.

Gotta agree with Padfoot here. Humor and light-hearted are a subset of pub topics if you ask me.
Over-categorizing things will introduce clutter.

I think the Art section should be called "Projects and Experiments"

Having seen the Computer Room flash into existence, I would suggest using the demiurgic powers of an admin to ruthlessly move some posts from the Local Pub to fill it a bit... :D
Also, before the month runs out I'd like to know the decision on whether the Elder Site's stuff is going to be archived here or transferred or what ? I visit there now and again, but for how long will it stay ?

You're eagerly waiting to have a category where you can talk about yourself with yourself and moderate yourself, don't you? :D
Um, I made the categories for art and tech stuff now. Humor and light-hearted discussions will go to the Pub. You see, guys, you don't need to be so serious when you're discussing in the Pub. Humor and silly topics are just fine - it is, after all, an off-topic forum. :D

Having considered awhile, I'd now like to suggest one more: there are so many threads about music, I think it would be easier to corral them into one Music Forum, to avoid cluttering the place up.
