and the winner goes to...

Coffee is my absolute favorite, I at least have to have a cup of coffee. But I am picky about my coffee, I like it to be brewed just right, using the best French roast Starbucks or Peets, a good Braun coffee maker, and bottled water, and 1/3 cup milk, and 1 tsp. sugar. I drink 3-4 cups of strong starbucks in the morning, I absolutely love coffee. I've also grown to like the Southern Sweet tea, and it goes really good with a Southern porkchop sandwich with carmelized onions and large sweet tea, yum. When I went to Las Vegas for training with some of my Southern female co-workers, it was so amusing to watch them ask a Western place for Southern tea. First, the water has to be warm, and you drop the tea into it. Then you need to add an unbelievable amount of sugar and stir it for 5 minutes until there isn't a trace of granule left, then you add the ice cubes. Its like a ritual almost like if its not done just right, its not drinkable. They had to get the Las Vegas Buffet waitress to come back 3 times with all the ingredients for Sweet Tea.

Occasionally drink sleepy time, peppermint or green tea too, but not too often.

I like the starbucks iced coffee, and the caramerchino?

I posted this on the lonelyplanet website about Frozen Hot Chocolate, which sounds good. The recipe is in the abc news link.

Here is the article from ABC News too:

It may not take too long at the rate we're going. I've noticed in the past couple of days there has been a burst in new posts. It used to be between 15 - 30 (usually mid-twenties) when I would check the board after a day, now it's in the upper 40s.

yes... I agree.. anyway.. also, for those who don't know you can view a bird's eye view of general forum statistics here:
http://www.intpcentral.com/index.php?mode=stats
any suggestions on other statistics that the community would be curious to see?

In some fora the icons for each thread in the lists have a tiny dot to show that this is a topic in which the viewer has posted. It would be also handy for those who wish to spam, indicating which topics are virgin for their ploughs.

:rofl: ;P

int -- yeah, I think something like this was requested.. mmm, but I don't know if we should be giving ppl recognition just because of the number posts they have...
claver -- phpBB sucks ass so that feature won't be available anytime soon... I would much rather migrate to a stable release vBulletin of which has better features then phpbb offers.. and.. well.. phpbb just isn't really that good overall. the only issue is that vbulletin costs $$$ so either I would have to pay out of my pocket or we'd have to setup a fund for it.

Oh, durr. :banghead: I wasn't thinking and couldn't add, for some reason. What about breaking them down a bit more, into per week instead of by month?

I agree, I WANT DOT FOLDERS!!!! :rant:

Even invision board would be better, but a paypal donations account can easily be setup for something like this and server costs. We can even give things out for donations like titles, pay to have someones title changed for a month to whatever you want (no personal attacks of course, all in fun and hey, you're supporting the forum).

yeah.. the idea is good but I don't want to do administration stuff. The only thing I think we should do is get vBulletin up but that's only thing I think should be a high priority.. but that would require money. I think we should wait til we have at least 50,000 posts or something.
here is the vbulletin order form:
http://www.vbulletin.com/order/
the license is $160
if you click 'purchase' they try and upsell with this:
- Installation - First Time - $135 -- we don't need this
- Branding Free Option - $120 -- I am interested in this since I am not fond of branding in general.

We currently offer two additional services: a branding free option (that will allow you to remove all Jelsoft/vBulletin references from the product) and professional installation (where a Jelsoft team member will install the software onto your server)

without branding it would be $280 without branding it would be $160..

so I would have to import the data myself which isn't that big of a deal since I just looked at their faq which states:

Can I import posts/threads/members from other forum software?

We currently offer vB2.x and vB3.x import utilities for the following bulletin board products:

vBulletin 3.x

The vB3 import system is called ImpEx and currently can support the conversion of the following board to vBulletin:

* phpBB2
* eve 4.02
* IPB 1.3
* wBB2
* Ubb 6.3 - 6.7
* Open Topic
* DCFm (DCForum+ MySQL backend)
* YaBB SE 1.5.5
* Ubb.x
* Ubb threads 6.x
* Ezboard (posts only, not members accounts)
* vBulletin 3 (v3.0.x -> v3.0.3)
* Snitz (3.4.x MySQL)
* Ikonboard MySQL
* XMB (1.9)
* CuteCase (2.0)
* ThwBoard (3)
* SMF (1.0)

For further details on the current status of the vB3 import scripts and an overview of the data that is imported for each of the different boards please see this thread

vBulletin 2.x

* Infopop Ultimate Bulletin Board 5.*
* Infopop Ultimate Bulletin Board 6.0, 6.1 and 6.2
* Infopop UBBThreads 5.4 (formerly WWWThreads)
* Infopop OpenTopic/UBB.x
* Coolboard
* Ikonboard 2
* Ikonboard 3
* phpBB2
* DC Forum
* XMB
* vBulletin Lite

if there is strong interest to move vBulletin then let's continue this discussion in the suggestion forum..
vbulletin would allow for dot buttons and much more stability in the long run... so, someone start a thread in there. if there is strong enough interest I will start the pot with $50... which knocks it down to $230... or to $110 if you want to have their branding.
