(insert file) won't run Ms-DOS OR WINDOWS.

Windows/system/autoexec.nt. the system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose 'close' to terminate the application.


Can some one please tell me how to fix that?

might be related to installing service pack 2

I know you found your solution, but as a side note, if you want to run DOS games in winXP (or Linux for that matter) try http://dosbox.sourceforge.net. It's a little emulator with better DOS support than Microsoft has given to XP...
