That finally helped me figure out my variants stacking. The general descriptions of the variants are pretty typical, but I found the chart (http://www.enneagram.net/subtypeschart.html) very useful. Concise and informative.

Great link. I also like the chart. I'd say my SP is not to survive, but to do what needs to be done. Those are different.

I rarely do what "needs to be done," because I have a problem defining "needs to be done." I always consider every alternative. What if I don't do it? What will happen? And often, I have a contrarian attitude that makes me want not to do what "needs to be done" and see if I can achieve my desired result without doing the tedious chores that "need to be done."

I didn't agree with the SP identity statement, "I am my body." That's not true for me - I am my mind, not my body. (But I suppose it's closer than "I am my relationship" or "I am my group.") The same theme ran through the entire SP section: the chart painted SPs to be more concerned with physical well-being, like health and hygiene, while I am more concerned with my mental well-being.

Still, a very informative chart.

Ah, the "everyone wants to be sexy" problem. Div strikes me as a likely soc/sx.

FINALLY! Thank you CD... that is what I have been telling him as well... at least definitely soc first ;)

Edit: Punching bag...?! Um, that is not what I am trying to do... sorry :(

Well, the whole "gay atheist" socio-political focus does indeed suggest a social variant, and I say sx-second 'cause of the zaniness that sp-lasters tend to have.

Why not sexual first? He's the resident pervert here, I think :D
