what is the web to you?

the web is my playground.. it's the only place I feel free.. on average I'm probably on the web more than 8 hours a day 7 days a week.. my computer tan is coming in pretty good though. part of the reason is work related but the other reason is that I'm addicted.

The web is a swallower of time and major contributor to non-productivity.
But that's ok, cause it's cool.
Asides, it can be pruductive if used correctly.

It's great for window shopping and information gathering. The people who support the web are my heroes for this. But I see the web as a means to an end, not an end to itself.

I haven't had much success getting the web to take a plunger to a toilet... :sombrero:

I've been on and off computer addictions over the last few years. Web forums, Usenet, IRC, computer games, Everquest. It seems like I'm heading towards "on" again, heh. I can get addicted to a forum even when I'm not a participant.

To me the web is a place where I can find people with similar interests (namely, this forum, IRC) or get in touch with friends who's phone numbers I might not have. Browse art, post art, find interesting/funny things to read/watch.

Of course, there has to be some limit though, I try not to let myself stay on the computer every waking hour.. which is helpful

I noticed Almaviva is a gamer.. that is one of the things I think I'm lucky I didn't get into. If I play a game I usually get bored of it eventually. Games I do like are usually just board games such as Stratego, Scrabble, so on and so forth.
