I am in my first/second year of college, I need your opinions on study guides that you guys might have purchased before. I heard of study guides from Baron, For Dummies, For Idiots, etc... but I don't know which brand or specific book is good. I am looking for study guides on the subjects of college-level entry Physics, Pre-Calculus and Chemistry. Worksheets, quizzes, tests, etc... included in the text will help. :) I bascially just want more help with my classes.

The Schaum's Outlines aren't bad. http://books.mcgraw-hill.com/landingpage.php?template=schaums

Your professors didn't tell you what study guides go along with your textbooks? Odd. Maybe you could ask them.
For my Chem class, the study guide isn't very good. I find the Student Solutions Manual to be much more helpful, but you need the textbook to go along with it (but you don't need the textbook for the study guide). Our textbook, study guide, and solutions manual all just say "General Chemistry" and they're written by Whitten, Davis, Peck, and Stanley.

Schaum's aren;t bad - but look at various books as your style of learning may be sufficiently different from anyone elses. i.e. - whatever works best for you.

Shaum's suck, I bought a bunch in first year back in the day and never ended up really using them. They were about as good as the textbook. For Dummies is better, but i've only read one, so take that with a grain of salt. I'm a tough critic when it comes to teaching material though.
