So I will be in the rainy city.... next week. Earlier than I expected. Career planning stuff. I plan to stay 1 night. So melbourne people, even australians who have any spare time and the money to travel, I am willing to be a J and organise some sort of meet. Flood me with suggestions, or ignore me, and I'll have a meet up of 1. 'soK, my entire life is a gathering of 1. I am INTP, after all.
More details within the next 48 hours max.

Damn I wanna go, why do you two have to live way the fuck down there! As much as I like you both, unless Angelina Jolie was coming too, I don't think I can make it.

Ok, all you stars have until next Wednesday evening 7pmish (AEST) to descend upon the city of Melbourne, for sushi train delights, and possibly beer afterwards (nonseq will drink lemon squash).
Me, nonsequitur, 2ds are in.

Woo, that was fun, I went and got a new phone with a better camera for the occasion so I could take better photos... unfortunatley I have realised, it's a phone, the photos just aren't that good, ohwell.

The night started with me making an arse out of myself by being supprised when Nonsequita turned out not to be the 35yo balding ESFJ in her avatar.
We then went for some Japanese in China Town (pictures of me eating with too much gusto have been removed). After which we proceeded to fed square for beer (Serotonin and I) and coffee (nonsequiter). We got rained on alot, gossiped about other forum members and generally had a good time (well.. I did)

I with wet hair snapping a picture of Nonsequiter and myself, you can really see the fear in her eyes.

My beer bottle, Yeah, I just don't bother hiding it anymore...

Nonsequiter attempting to eat her hand after my choice of restaurant proved unfulfilling.

The three of us, I was told very sternly this was not to be posted in the threesome thread as I had originally intended.

I noticed the INTP eyes...

Well now.
Inclement weather. Pity all the thunder and lightning was in the sky, and not bandied around the table.
The atmosphere was completely chilled out. Usually in social situations I take a passive stance, because someone with strong Fi and Se wants to do something or go somewhere quite badly. Trying to flip over was hard. Luckily 2ds took the "ideas" lead for most of the night.
For the particulars you can head to nonsequitur's blog, but of course I want to analyse the weird, subtle aspects instead.
I had "south-east corner" in my head, and somehow that got lost in translation when I looked down at my street directory and discovered "oh, all I have to do is pretty much walk downstairs" and the "cross the road" part disappeared from my mind.
2ds rings me.
2ds: hello
moi: yes is this mr 2ds
2ds: yeah where are you
moi: where you said we'd meet, i'm right outside the westpac bank
Pause.
2ds: That's the south-west corner.
moi: shit, you're right.

After dinner we walked past Dirt Cheap CDs, I said "sorry, but I have to go in every time I see a bargain CD shop". They were about to close and 2ds was quite conscious of this, but I of course was oblivious and just continued browsing. After he whispered in my ear I grabbed the Manic Street Preachers "Everything must go", bought it and left. 2ds was chatting with the security guard and said "I have to go to work later this evening".
"This evening?", I said, handing over cash.
"Oooooh, naughty eavesdropping!" said the lady behind the counter. Assuming that 2ds and I were total strangers.
God. Are us INTPs that anti-social?

We rain through the rain to a pricey bar at Fed Square. Here we bitched and backstabbed about INTPC members like nothing else. Scales fell from eyes, rumours were created and destroyed, and we all made a pact of complete silence right at the end.

Okay, exaggeration. But it was hard not to bring the subject up.

On the way back to my motel there was a bouncer throwing a suited patron out of the Young and Jackson's hotel. A few slaps were exchanged, and the bouncer pushed the drunkard out onto the wet pavement, where he landed nastily on his wrist. Lawsuit time.

The night was over quite quickly. I'm having more favourable impressions of it the more I recall it, though.

Lucky the guy only fell on his wrist.
I was actually out with some mates a few doors done from where you would've been. Weird. It sure did rain like hell.

!!!!!!!

You should have, like, joined us. I didn't know there was another melbourne person. Athman hasn't been around for a while (as in months), so I didn't think he'd be interested.

Seotonin. Funny you should say that. I finished a big project yesterday and looked up INTP central for the first time in months. I saw the thread about the Melbourne meet up but it was too late to arrange someone to look after the kids. I ended up taking the kids to the video store and rented some buffy dvd's. I could've done with a night out. PM me if you guys do it again and I'll be there.

It is kind of weird seeing so many from this forum in the same city.

Dear me. The night of missed opportunities.
If I get this job, I will be moving to Melbourne, so there's always next time.

Greetings all...
This thread finally got me out of lurking land to say hello :peep:
I would have come along if I'd seen this thread about a week earlier.

Having had a perrrv at your photos I started thinking about how nature often produces people that look strikingly similar.
Serotonin's face looks like a friend of mine and while I've contemplated this person's INTP'edness, they are far too clingly.
Secondly, 2ds looks like my older brother. Everything from the short hair, to the eyes, to the smile. I'm not good at typing people but I know my brother gets annoyed when I never respond to his emails about "what I'm upto" :D

Anyway, someone mentioned you could see something in the eyes... can anyone elaborate on this please?
