California had passed legislation legalizing same-sex marriage, which Gov. Schwarzenegger vetoed last Thursday.

Democrats
Yay: 62
Nay: 5

Republicans
Yay: 0
Nay: 46

Where are the Log Cabin Republicans? Still in the closet methinks... Republicans in California are just like Republicans in any other state.

Pre-Veto:
"We have made it clear that we can either be the party of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Rudy Giuliani or we can be the party of Alan Keyes and Rick Santorum," said Log Cabin Republicans Executive Director Patrick Guerriero.

Post-Veto:
“Log Cabin calls on Governor Schwarzenegger to send a firm message to the people of California that he will not allow his agenda to be further hijacked by the radical right, and that he will not allow the forces of intolerance to use the ballot initiative process to roll back domestic partner benefits currently protecting gay and lesbian families,” concluded Jeff Bissiri, California Director of Log Cabin.

Leadership is never hijacked. It's bought and sold. They can't bring themselves to disowning him.
