Curious if you know what type Dylan is? I know he evokes more feelings in me than any artist ever has. He is a master of making you "feel". Perhaps its just that I don't normally feel things that deeply, but if i listen to his music it brings out all sorts of emotions I never knew I had. And, its usually discordant, which is just exactly how I feel. Anyway, I sort of wish I knew what his type was. Does anyone know or want to guess?

Hmm I've been wondering about the types of the artists I listen to ... anyone care to guess the type of any of these??
Elliott Smith
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Ben Harper
Bic Runga
Gackt (a jpop artist i'm obsessed with atm, not sure of my chances of people here knowing his stuff, but hoping.)
Fiona Apple

ENFJ all the way... :sombrero:
I'd disagree with the E. He always seems to hide his true self. Constantly wore sunglasses in the 60s. Rarely gives interviews. He may perform constantly, but that doesn't mean anything. Johnny Carson is an introvert and was on TV every night.

INFP . . . maybe j, definitely not E.

His music was rarely dischordant. Simplistic in the beginning, but not purposely dischordant.

Dylan is coming out with a memoir in Oct. Newsweek has a feature on him and an excerpt:

Dylan's lyrics tell stories of others, and he uses the word "you" a lot. That's extraversion, not introversion.

Dylan not discordant? To me the Harmonica is naturally pretty discordant, & he choses lots of slightly off key notes, for example "I'm in love with the ugliest girl in the world" ... or.. Dark eyes. Those are surely meant to be discordant and slightly off beat. Thats how I think of discordant, how do you think of it?
Anyway, I tend to wonder about E or I too. A Gemini that socializes as much as he did, would almost have to be extroverted, yet...he needed time alone too. The sunglasses...maybe he was just stoned when he wore the sunglasses.

I think he might be an INTP or INFP
but surely he is INxP
he's introverted, u see he doesnt love publicity much and so often changed his house so fans wont follow
N that's obvious, no sensing can write such "out the way" songs
T or F , might be an F, becoz F people are more adept at expressing verbal meanings, but this one still confuses me
And P, sure,
No J would pick up a guitar and start singing songs to tell people that their life is really boring
:) lol

Well, I just read that article MacGuffin, and the book looks very good. Wow, that he had visions in his early days and dreams in his Chronicles, ok...that has got to be N. It talks about both introverted and extroverted tendancies.
I've decided since he cares about people & expresses himself well, thats probably E, & F, even if he is very private, that could be because he was stalked.
ENFJ or ENTP? Well, the description for ENFJ was pretty close.
Now for a musician to get as good and kept at it, as he did, I just don't think an INTP would have a lifestyle like that.
I know extroverts that are very private when they are home, and don't want any visitors. They give all their energy to their public image. That just seems more extroverted, and what many performers are like, so I guess its E.

I think he's an ENTP. He's not a really feeling type ("Everything inside is made of stone", from: it ain't me babe). He's extroverted - loves being the center of attention, as is visible documentaries with a younger Dylan. Perceiving is obvious. So is intuition.
I love Dylan. He's one of my favorite artists.

I've read a book on Bob Dylan's biography a couple of years ago. I practically don't remember anything, but I am under the impression he was a bit fond on living on the edge and, also, he was rather traditionalist. I'd go with xSTP.
I like his music.

I say you a lot and I am an INTP. I say you a lot b/c I am a detached introvert. My ISTP friend does this as well. I think Dylan is an ISTP. I read it online somewhere but I also agree. Reason being, he isn't necessarily a good singer but he can get in their and perform like any craftsman. The only difference his tools are his guitar, harmonica, and his energy. Also, think about his animus. ENFJ.

Most definitely ISFP.

I agree with ISTP. In interviews it seems as if he suffered brain damage or has some kind of learning disability. He's overrated.

Watch some of his older interviews, you know, without so much of the drugs and things. He is most definately an introvert.
