I finally went to a therapist today as I decided to try this employee assistance thing we have a work and I guess the insurance company will pay for the first 5 visits per incident. I kind of forgot about it until someone mentioned it at work yesterday. I was feeling pretty depressed and full of despair lately, so I decided maybe I should just go and try the therapy thing since I didn't have to pay for it anyway.

So after I talk to him about what was going on at work, he said why don't you try this Alpha stimulator. I guess it puts a changing pattern of current into your head. I was pretty skeptical at first but not long after turning it on I was on cloud 9 while he was talking to me about how I could handle my situation. He recommends trying it out on a rent to own basis instead of just buying it outright. He also showed me some data of another patient of his that he collected for insurance purposes that seemed to show it helped her feel better. He also said it is FDA approved device, and much faster and controllable than antidepressant drugs.

Has anyone heard of these things and hopefully it isn't a total crock? It sure seemed like it was doing something good. I was laughing on the way home to myself that I am going to take this thing to work Monday and make sure I wear it to our staff meeting. I would like to see what my boss thinks of that.. Ha Ha Ha Ha... I can crank it up when he starts stressing me out. Ha Ha Ha...

Right now I still feel much better than I did before, so hopefully this thing really works.

It is supposedly possible to stimulate specific brainwave frequencies by modulating an audio waveform a certain way and listening to the result in headphones. I tried this once but I didn't get any clear, conclusive results. However I did feel a nuance of nausea at certain points; this could possibly be attributed to my experiment.
