Okay I know this is going to sound stupid but I think this might be good to talk about. I was thinking about E=MC2 and I know that matter can be turned into energy but what about the other way around? Is this possible yet? What are some theories for making this happen?

I got the idea when I was thinking about solving the worlds oil problem. If you can turn something as simple as water into energy and then into oil, problem solved. Of course this would cause serious problems. Such technology could be used for a lot of other things.

What would be the ramifications of such technology on society? What would happen to our economy and how would it affect trade? If such a technology already exists do you think that the government would hide it?

* this happens every femtosecond of every day at collider facilities around the world

* energy is still conserved, so on the grand scheme of things it doesn't buy you much.

One of my buddies works on an antimatter motor project for NASA. It's kinda useful there.

It seems that antimatter can't do what I am thinking, the amount of energy created is pretty amazing, but making matter would be difficult maybe even impossible. I don't understand antiparticles they remind me of black holes for some reason.
