Hi,

thought I'd introduce myself.

Looks like a good forum. Despite being relatively new, there seems to be a fair amount of activity here.

As I've found when joining other INTP lists, nearly every thread's subject topic catches my attention.

Look forward to engaging you all in some intense / in-depth discussion.

Adam.

Return To Castle Wolfenstein ... actually the first game I've played since ... Warcraft II? ... dunno why I just never got into playing games, even though I enjoyed them ... loving this. =] Suppose I spent all my free time playing chess for years, so that chewed up any potential anything-else time. =]

I don't really like many games.. I did like the original Doom 1 and 2 though... and Word Racer.. and I played Alien versus Predator for a bit but I'm just not good at games so I get bored of them. does the thread starter play any games?

For multiplayer (and good bot) action, try Unreal Tournament 2004's Onslaught game (if you have a computer powerful enough... 1.5GHz minimum, preferably a 128MB video card at least for best results).
The game is too damned addicting.

1.1ghz celeron ...
recently got a gforce 2 32-bit video card (something like that, don't know much at all about computer parts =/ )
Actually I have the Unreal Tournament CD in my hands right now, borrowed it from a friend, but by the sound of your post there's no way it will work for me. =/
Doesn't matter, I can live without games, and rtcw will keep me busy for a while anyway. =]

I did get the chance to play some Unreal Tournament stuff at a LAN party recently ... not sure whether or not it was the 2004 one ... and not sure which version I hold in my hand right now. =] *puts it back on floor*

Hi hi, welcome to the forum. I found the intp lists to be too much e-mail to really deal with...but I like this forum :]

I s'pose a car avatar could be something a bit different here eh? bit more 'S' related?

but yeah thats my car, its an MR2, specifically an AW11 MR2 (the earlier model)

I'm a programmer, (also have to do some support work) been out of uni for close to 2 years. Sometimes I wish I could go BACK to uni. In hindsight it just seemed so lazy compared to full time work. I'm gradually getting sick of IT related work. It would be cool to just totally change career paths. Something like psychology, or some hard-core science might be interesting. I'd have to do without a solid income again though. I think i'd better stop raving on in this introduction thread.

just to join in on the hardware / gaming topic that hijacked my intro...
I've got a celeron 1.2 overclocked to 1.5

I've been out of gaming for so long now. I've still only got a 32mb TNT2

Anyone played doom 3? know what sort of hardware would be needed for it to run well?

which languages do you work with?

> hardware / gaming topic that hijacked my intro
I think most of the intro threads get hijacked with something somewhere along the way

> doom 3
haven't played but doom 1 and 2 were very cool. as far as hardware, you'll probably need the best video card out on the market and probably some other goodies.

Doom 1 was cool.

I needed 512 MB of RAM to play Everquest. I rarely get around to it, though I enjoy it. PC Gaming takes too much time, when I would rather be reading. On game cube, I used to play Zelda.

Edit: When I was a kid I could play more, but now that I am older I have too many responsibilties. I feel kind of silly walking into the gaming store, I must admit (I do not fit the profile of a gamer). Still fun though, but not enough time. I always had games and computers as a kid back in the 80's. Man, that Tandy, intellivision, and atari were cool.

What subjects are you interested in?
