Hi, kinda new, but been browsing the forum a little for about 2 months ... wasn't going to make a "Hi I'm new blahhhhhh~" thread, but it seems most new people do it so ... meh ... conforming I guess.

Music is my oxygen ... and I love board games (chess, chinese chess, go ...) ... I play guitar ... I spend basically all my time at home on the computer doing ... nothing at all. I'm guilty of coming to this forum, it being empty, checking for new posts, finding none, leaving, and then coming back moments later to check new posts (then repeating numerous times), so I figure I may as well start joining in the posting. =/

*shrug* ... and my name is Gary ...

welcome to the forum...I was never very good at Chess.
I will guess you're not female... ?
What kind of music do you listen to?
where you from?
what are you doing with your life besides playing games?

Stevie Ray Vaughan
Ben Harper
Bic Runga
Gackt (a jpop artist i'm obsessed with atm, not sure of my chances of people here knowing his stuff, but hoping.)
Fiona Apple

just noticed you posted that in another thread...
so .. I will guess that Gackt is the person in your avatar.. and.. I think I like Ben Harper.. he did the song 'Faded' .. I never heard any of his other music though.

You're right, I'm male ...

Music ... my favourites now are:
Elliott Smith
Gackt
Naotaro Moriyama
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Bic Runga
Fiona Apple

I'm from Sydney, Australia.

What am I doing with my life besides games? =/
Well I blew my final year of high school (never was a hard worker), and am repeating it. Pretty depressing year, have found myself getting further and further detatched from everything. It has had it's plus though, I've finally made friends with a group of geeky people and have had fun with things like my first LAN party. B)

Other than games, I sit here. Actually gaming is a new thing in the last week or so, mostly I just sit here. I get home from school, I put music on, and I sit. I browse forums aimlessly until 1-2am, then go to bed. I get up about 7am, go to school, and come home and stay online until 1-2am ...

I've done nothing with my life. I'm 19 and I haven't had a job yet ... after spending the last 14 years at school, I've achieved little ... I haven't gone for my Learner's license to be able to drive ... I have done little more than play chess, listen to music, and play guitar.

*shrug* What am I here for?
The best I can come up with is that hopefully I can get into a psychology course and learn about that one subject that does interest me outside of music. Whatever happens, music will be something I'll pursue, even though I lack any special entertaining charisma. =/

ramble ramble, fin.

Actually, the person in my avatar is Nozomi Tsuji, my celebrity crush I suppose. =P ... Don't know why, her behaviour, facial expressions, and sense of humour crack me up ... even if I don't understand Japanese. She makes me smile ... *shrug* =/

Gackt is a Japanese artist, too, and I am completely obsessed by his music at the moment. His style varies from rock to acoustic guitar stuff to piano stuff. Both the music and the lyrics to his songs are amazing.

Yep Ben Harper is the one that did the song 'Faded'. =]

if you take an intro psych course you would be learning a lot of definitions(which may be boring to you).. so maybe you want to start reading up on it now so then you're not overwhelmed by the time you get there. I didn't like high school but I knew I didn't want to fail and spend more time there then I needed to... when I got to college I didn't like that and you probably won't either.
I always regretted that I hadn't gotten my license at a younger age. I got it when I was 18. The independance is a nice feeling.... it's just lame when you have nowhere to drive to..

Yeah I am worried about how I would do at university/college ... I do believe that if it is something of interest then I could do really well, but I am quite aware of what can happen if I don't have an interest to start with, or have but then lose interest. In any case, only a month until final exams, and they will last maybe 3 weeks, and after that I'm out of school, at last. Right now I am looking forward to moving on to whatever it is that comes next, I don't care anymore. Ultimately, I want to finish school, get a job, save up, and move out. Maybe find a girl to direct me. Or just move out and share a place with a friend or something. Meh.

Hey, we're not all that evil.

the reason I said that was because when I guy has money, he has a higher chance of spending it on time spent with her.. she isn't taking his money.. he is just spending money when he spends time with her.. usually. although I know one girl who will pay because she has to always 'win' and be more dominant and such.

You might check out the links in this link, Last Song, regarding Shonen Knife, if you care for that sort of thing... Japs, girls, whatever.

That's not true; mine emptied my bank account and left me at walmart.

Doing the psych (and sociology ... and crime & criminal justice) ... course now ... and hating university. I like the availability of resources (i.e. the library), and I like some of the lectures ... but in general I am really disliking my time as a uni student. I have been going long enough to realise that I dislike it ... and to realise that I am not yet ready for the self-motivation required to keep up with all of the work. I guess you predicted right.

I am regretting the fact that I still haven't got my license ... and also that I haven't worked yet. Meh.

I probably should have paid more attention to your post earlier.

I want to drop out of uni and just work. Blah.
