View Full Version : The rantings of a klutz

My life is rather grand. As my mother insists on my eating in the livingroom, so as to be more sociable, I tend to be rather clumsy. It's not intentional, it's just being a rather dorky, mal-adjusted teenager. Anyway, for the last three nights running (according to my father's count), I have managed to spill something rather messy. Two nights milk, one night my entire plate of food. I'm sure the carpet rather loves me at the moment.
But, as for the reason for the post, tonight was the night of the most glorious mess ever. After my mother asked me if she needed to find someting to cover my enitre body and the furniture, and I rather heatedly replied, "No, leave me alone, I am perfectly fine!", I spilled an entire glass of milk on myself, then I jumped up and got speghetti sauce all over my arm. My father declared something along the lines of, "God, Sarah, this is the third night in a row," and I managed to respond with "Yes, I am aware of that." Then, while my sister was in hysterics, my mother yelled, "Why can't you be more careful?" And I responded by screaming, "It's not my fault." Then my father pointed out, "Well, you were the one who made the mess..." then I corrected myself by declaing, "I didn't do it on purpose!"
About that time, I realized that most of my pants were dripping wet with cold milk, so I ran into my room, grabbed the first pair of pants I found, and a pair of underwear, then I rushed to the bathroom to change. As nothing decent could possibly happen, it turned out that I had grabbed the world's largest pair of pants. And they were partially see-through, though you cannot tell with white underwear. I immediately looked at my underwear and discovered that...they were floral printed. I then had to run back to my room, attempting to hold up the large, transparant pants, to search for something more suitable.

Needless to say, this night is not going well.

I haven't eaten a real meal with my family in at least four to six years, excluding holidays and occasional bouts of social tendencies.

And you're a teen? I thought you must be at least in your early 20s. I vote you least likely to get carded.

Aren't families a wonderful thing?

I am going with my dad for a week to Sarasota, Florida.. I am not interested in going at all.. I wasn't directly asked whether I was wanted to go, it was more like "we're going to Florida, isn't that exciting?" but I knew if I said no my dad might cry or feel offended/upset..
I asked him what we were going to do there and we said we were going to go to all the 'hotspots' ... tourist traps.. FUCK that, I don't want to go somewhere just to visit all the muesems and other bullshit to pretend that the relationship between my father is normal. I'll make an 'official' thread about it in a day or two where I will continue my rant.

Why do you think I have mostly broken up with mine? Apart from my niece, whom I think is NTP, I have mostly broken away from my family.

European men cry if they're kicked in the nuts, otherwise, no.

 That made my day. You should have seen me before I got all my hair chopped off. I looked about twelve on a good day.

Then, while my sister was in hysterics,...
Good for Sis. I got a good chuckle out of your story too.

Seriously, it's no big deal. Try and see the humor in it.

As my mother insists on my eating in the livingroom

mmm...strange strange family. I'm forced (though rather willingly) to eat at a nice dark brown, very heavy large wooden table in the dining room. Napkins and all ^_^

I think that shall be my case shortly. I try to eat in the dining room, regardless of where the rest of my family chooses to sit, but it usually doesn't work too well.

Do you have any income? If you can afford it, take yourself out to eat once in a while so you can enjoy a decent, peaceful meal while you read a good book.

Or make sure you have control over the remote and turn on NOVA while you eat; that disbanded living room dinner at my house with ease.

Better yet, the Discover channel. IIRC, around the average dinner time they have a series running on forensic science. *Tries to look innocent. Fails miserably.*

That reminds me of an incident that happened when I was still living with my parents.

When I hit my early teens I finally got my own room downstairs. For the next 8 years I tripped up those stairs EVERY morning.

For some reason we had a gas stove (and our only oven) in the laundry room near my bedroom  . I remember once (and only once mind you), my dad asked me to bring the food up...

Anyway, my dad and sister are yelling at me, the pizza (which landed upsidedown) is becoming one with the stairs, I start laughing, loose my balance and fall down the stairs. I finally compose myself and apologize to them for ruining dinner and contritely asked dad why he had me bring diner up when I've been tripping up those stairs for 6 years.

After they stopped laughing at me, dad ordered a pizza :)

Hah...I mentioned that I never tripped down the stairs, only up them, to my friend once, and she said, "Ah, tripping up the stairs, a unique act of the slightly sophisticated".

Once fell down the stairs in front of most of the students at my school...while dressed as a butterfly. It was really lovely.

I ran headlong into a telephone pole once, while playing soccer...

Busted my ass in a dorm basement hallway playing soccer, though it did teach me a valuable lesson: tile is slick.

I knocked myself out running into a wall one time when I was little.
