I find this interesting because it provides me with another bit of information to include in a research paper I have to do

Looks like the 3rd stage of grief (I am not completely sure - but I think it went this way):

1 DENIAL --- Darwin was a moron and heathen
2 ANGER --- Lets kill the Godless Savages
3 BARGAINING --- Ok - Darwin was right within the context of God wanting him to be right
4 DEPRESSION --- Darwin is an asshole, because he was onto something
5 ACCEPTANCE --- Praise Darwin.

This is brilliant! :worthy:

It's strange when the head of the church has to try and temper the american church across the ocean - and basically try to tell them they're missing the point. I don't see how arguing over which side is sure to be true brings anybody spiritual guidance. If anything, arguing about these matters seems the exact opposite of living a spiritual, christian life to me. I think that is what the pope wanted to say.

This is positive, but I don't know how much it will help. Many of the U.S. fundies already think the Catholics are going to hell.

I don't think it's going to help either. I think this is more a 'we have to TRY something' plan than a 'we have to DO something' one.
