View Full Version : Whay did God make so little INTPs
Aryan

evolution of human mind has taken place in such a way that we as INTPs are left as minorites while ESxx types are a majority.
( i cannnot seem to find out the exact reason ? )
Guess god must hate or fear us thats why he made so little of us and he must love others and thats why he made so many of them?
PS: i am something between an atheist and an agnostic

Leaving God out of it (since the majority of us here aren't theists.. why bring it up?)
Why are there less INT's? What would the world really be like if there were more of us? Sure sure, we would make everything perfect and work well ... *right*.
Just imagine, if we were all INTPs- there would be no one to implement our ideas, we would just be running after each new shiny idea and forgetting the old one. Stupid detail work would never get done... really, there are a lot of things we would suck at. (edit- like Johnny said.. food does not grow on trees .. oh, wait, yes it does.. :nerd: )
[INTP ego trip]
To go back to the God question- obviously he made less of us as we are awesome and can hold our own against the rest of the world though we are small in number. We are the few gold coins outweighing the many copper ones ;)

If we assume it's a nature thing, wouldn't it be likely that INTP is the result of mainly recessive genes, and thus there are relatively few in the populace?

Something along those lines makes sense. Genes and other circumstances just don't combine in a way that makes INTP's very often, and that could well be because such a combination is not an efficient procreator.

Certes, the Religion Poll is unrepresentative since only 65 out of 200 plus have voted, although some members never post, from which one may deduce they would either be too shy to vote or that they are no longer with us ( in a purely online sense: they will always be with us in our hearts ), nevertheless, a majority, 30, put Spiritual/Religious against 28 Atheist/Non-believer, with 7 having no opinion. So the majority on the board are probably theists.
And serve you right. ;P

Well, going by Survivor rules of thumb...
1. The leader always gets voted off early. (There goes the ENTJ)
2. Introversion is a double-edged sword. On one hand, it's an extroverted game, and you need to get along with your tribemates. On the other hand, being under-the-radar can win you the game.
I think our extroverted buddy the ENTP would win. They're clever.
And on topic...the answer's right under our noses!
God created so few of us, because he knew none of us would believe in him!!
I am married to a crafty ENTP and I still think we would "Kill Piggy." :D
I think Johnny summed it up best early in the thread.

At school in England we had to read portions of it in turn. And the poor **** who decreed this barbaric practice never once realised the poignant message of the book. Which is that people suck. ( As the divine Carey in Dweebs succinctly put it ).
Still, there was worse: Arnold Wesker for one, of whom I hope your pure mind has never heard. And a rotten play called 'Hobson's Choice'. The inhumanity never stopped.
Yup, I think I've seen the film also. in parts. 1960s B/W ? I never really care for single-sex films.

There is that version and one from 1990. The plot outline was "Stranded on an island, a group of schoolboys degenerate into savagery."
Really, single sex films? Why is that or can you say? Luckily, I was spared those plays, being an American, I suppose. I imagine Tennessee Williams and Faulkner are not as popular on your side of the pond.

Just because some folks (e.g., Descartes, Einstein) are attributed with this personality preference in the MBTI, I don't see that it then follows that I am Descartes or Einstein, or even that these two men were similar beyond the (questionable) assertion that they preferred Jung's introverted thinking function.
You are not at all disqualified from "genius" status Universal, if indeed this is your fear, simply because Socionics or MBTI does not support you as preferring INTP. You're going to have to work a little harder than that for such a title...make a music video...

6 Oct 2004, 07:40 PM
Now that... that would be scary. I don't think I'm a genius, I just know that I know more people that are dumber than me than I know people that are smarter than me. I know a few people who can run mental circles around me... and I don't begrudge them that. You can't help being who you are.
From Wikipedia:
"To distinguish between a prodigy, a genius must also have created or brought in something new in an established field, usually, the sciences, math, literature, chess, art, and music."
"In modern usage, a 'genius' is a person with distinguished mental prowess. This can manifest either as a foremost intellect, or as a creative talent. The term also applies to one who is a polymath, or someone skilled in many mental areas. The term does specifically apply to mental rather than athletic skills, although it is also used to denote the possession of a superior talent in any field; eg, one may be said to have a genius for golf. "
Polymaths are not always genius.
I think you have to prove yourself worthy of the genius label.
I am a "gifted" polymath, who is not bold enough to use the term genius. Genius is a title that must be earned.

We may only make up 3.3% of the total population, but there are still plenty of us to go around. Assuming the world population is exactly 6 billion, this would mean that there are 198,000,000 of us, or approximately 1.329 INTPs every square kilometre. Of course, I'm not taking into consideration important factors like age, so that one factor alone may significantly reduce that 198,000,000 or 1.329 INTPs every square km. Bah.

Of course, all of this discussion ignores the fact that 'typing' may apply to other animals than the human primate; so extrapolating the same percentages towards the larger populations of at least the higher animals, mammals, birds and fish, will give far larger returns.
