On the profile in intp.org it was said that most computer freaks are INTPs. :nerd:
Any INTP a freak here ? ( not a nerd lol, and freak counts internet addict, hackers, vxers lol.) B)
I am one freak here, lol a vxer, anyone else out there B) :D
Well i Guess starting out an internet community with not a very widely known psychological idenfication type and getting a strength of 200+ is freaky enough.

*winces, then laughs at the 1337 SPK*
Nah, I know a fair bit about computers, but my hacking ability is limited to finding gaps in the defenses, and exploiting them. On my college network, for example, you cannot sent messages using Novell, but you can (if you know how) give yourself admin access on the servers.

Root = power (*giggle*).
Nah...but I had a few buddies in HS that were trying to teach me and knew some stuff (basic, although some of them did attempt to change their grades)...since I had root access it was a bit useless...I was trusted with that for a reason...or, was I? B)

All i've done is the old Visual Basic in Excel, to run a very very basic shell command to open a program they normally don't let you get to :-)
such as cmd, or pinball :D
that was all the fun I got up to on a restricted school computer before the network admin booted me off :(

I messed around on my highschool network a bit... I need to get daed in here, he's done a bit... but really the high point was figuring out how to set the high scores in Minesweeper. Woo. I need to get on the ball and learn some of this.
And for posterity...
Edit: or not...

11-14 I was programming in BASIC on the TRS-80 Color Computer series, the only comps I had... (my rents were cheap, so I got old flea-market computers)
14 I got a 286 and my neighbor gave me an old 2400bps modem, so I started dialing up local BBS'es. The local BBS'es were mostly lame and the good ones gone, but one of them was a public library gateway to the Internet, namely to a UNIX (Sun Solaris) box with a guest login that let you use the Lynx browser. So I had all kinds of good times figuring out how the internet worked from a text-based browser standpoint, including web chats... ahh yes the days.
15 I got a faster modem for my 286, and a real PPP internet service through the same library. Had all kinds of fun telnetting into linux boxen that friends ran, signing up for free shell accounts, etc. Most of my fun was linked with those webchats I still frequented, where we used to use CGI scripts that logged the HTTP_REFERER variable to glean out the admin password from the admins in the chats (their browser would load our fake images and since the chat used GET URLs for everything, the admin password would be in there cleartext). Then I got further into C programming, and eventually was kicked off that service provider for running a fork() bomb on one of my free shell accounts (they complained, not to mention the webchat people complained too, etc...)
Eh, 17-18 I toned down my "fun" and did more tinkering with software and chatting. I eventually got a half-decent machine (Pentium 166 MMX) where I ran Quake 2, so I got into that for a while. After that I was out of HS and in college, so everything was history after that. No more 'l337 ./sk1llz type bullcrap for me anymore, I barely have time for it.

Funny thing is, I used to keep a text file with a journal of my history and good times of the early days of my internet exposure, which was ~1996-1999 or so. I wonder if I still have that. It's in need of a massive update, one which would be daunting to update based on the fact that I forgot everything I've done since then :D

Most hacking I ever did was give myself administrative access to all the project groups at my school which allowed me to look at what the competitors were up too.
I would find this clever except I did it by accident.

*sigh* I'll admit it. I used to be a bit of a script kiddie back when I was 11/12. l337 h4x0r me heh.
I was always the guy on battle.net who claimed he could h4x0r your account, even though he wasn't quite sure he could. I grew out of that though, it only took me about a month to get over the novelty.
Now that I do systems administration, it gets kind of pointless. I'm content in knowing that I could exploit my powers, I never do (at least not too much).
A few of my friends have tried to hack my servers. One person (not my friend) did so. We traced his IP, and I'm now happy to say that he no longer has internet access :)
It's amazing what threats can do...

I haven't done any hacking although I've always wanted to but it always seemed way too over my head.. now that I've been working with PHP for a year I want to get into other programming languages and anything else..
I did find a few major security holes in the shitty PHP ticket support app(it's the one used by the people who host this site)... I let the host know and they passed the information along.

Many of my most dramatic cracks were found "by accident"... the crack part was how far I took it after I discovered the backdoor ;)
