Sometimes.

In the past, I was quite the drinker. Now, I only drink more than a couple drinks in a sitting... maybe 4 times a year.

I'm afraid that the Barenaked Ladies' song (look, I only listen to them because they're Canadian) 'Alcohol' could have been written about me...

Despite my sig, I only drink a few times a week.

And only enough to feel it the next day maybe once or twice a year.

Not anymore.

Never. I don't touch the stuff.. I used to drink when my mother gave (even encouraged me sometimes) me whatever everyone else was drinking. Margaritas, Tequila, Mudslides, Wine, Champagne, nothing terribly heavy (except the tequila), but since then I've vowed never to drink another drop.. several reasons that are too boring too explain =P

Sometimes. I drank fairly regularly during and in the months after my divorce. Getting blotto is a pretty rare thing nowadays, though.

Not anymore.

I used to drink very rarely.....and that was at the occasional party, but I hate the taste of the stuff, I don't like the effect it has and I think it degrades people whom do actually drink.
I prefer to not drink, instead have a mug of tea, clear the place up a bit and find someone who's on their own in a corner to speak to.

I blame Vaga and Spirilis for allowing me to go to the bar last night. :P :)

I hate being drunk, but I drink a lot.

I used to, but now it's an occasional glass of red wine. I won't drink anything else.

Claverhouse
3 Oct 2004, 08:08 PM
I don't like beers, think wine is good grape juice spoiled so that leaves spirits. Specifically brandy. Most of the rest aren't that good.

So if someone offers it socially, or if I happen to think about it I'll drink. So basically I'll probably drink less than 6 times a year. Which could be either a single glass, or should I have bought a bottle, it'll go within a week.

All or nothing.

Claverhouse

And not drinking a lot doesn't win you much respect either. Girls prefer hard-drinking men, passionate about increasing the size of their bellies.

Now, I'm dissapointed. Funny though, reminds me of "Heroin Bob" because he's afraid of needles.

smoke: 24/7
drink: only when my frinds drag me to a bar. Usually I have the excuse of designated driver. I feel less under control when drunk. I'm either buzzed or blasted hard to find a sweet spot in between. Although I have slowly aquired the taste for some beers, mostly ales.

How did smoking get into this. Alcohol can be a vice: smoking is always cool.

[ Ask yourself this: Is not-smoking cool ? Outside the deranged minds of youth counsellors ? ].

To my Lady Nicotine !

Now that I have clarity that you are speaking of all alchoholic beverages, I am not a big beer drinker at all. It makes me bloat the following day. I will drink hard liguor during the holidays, but once it's over I can live without it. I do enjoy a nice glass of wine after a long day.

Abuh? Let me rephrase that. Filling your lungs with shit, in my opinion, is a bad idea, stupid, and self destructive. Wrong or right doesn't really enter into it. Sure, it's your body. Sure, you can do what you want with it. I still think it's dumb.

On sex I agree with Heinlein. Do whatever (or whoever) you want, and it's your own damn business. The thing is, is that that also goes for everyone else. I know it wouldn't work in current society, but that's my view.

Unfortunately, along with losing the hangover you lose the intoxication. Now where's the fun in that? ;)

I am getting old enough to really feel my hangovers, so I rarely drink more than my limit. However, a glass of good (not necessarily pricey) wine here and there is rather good for you and harmless.

"Sneaky shorts" for when you need a drink:
http://www.drsneaky.com/SneakyShorts.htm
I just noticed this, way back on the first page... What about condensation? People sitting on your lap? If you're trimming the hose to fit shorts... I assume you're not supposed to drink directly from the hose... but even if you fill a cup... just think about that. What if someone else wants a drink?
Also...

Liquids that are not for use with Dr. Sneaky Shorts include carbonated beverages, alcohol, and any non-clear fluids.
but they put that on all of those types of drink bag things.

A Corona or Purple Haze never hurts during football games on TV, but I don't watch *that* much football.

Then, I'll drink when I go out to a bar/club...but I hardly ever go out :p
Cranberry juice and vodka is wonderful!

i drink whenever i am bored.. which is often. a little bit every day? some days a lot.

Leftfield
26 Oct 2007, 04:53 AM
Usually once on the weekend (3-4 drinks) and maybe once or twice during the week (1-2 drinks)...

I used to drink two-to-three drinks a day a few years ago, but later I felt the need to exhibit some self-control and limit it to appreciate it more.

Moderate beer consumption has been promoted as a good way of life in some health studies,... so why not?

I drink till I black out around once a week now. Around 2 times a month with friends, the other two times sitting in my room on the internet/listening to music. Its become a ritual.

I only drink occassionally, but when I do drink I drink a lot. Basically, I'm a social drunk. When I'm by myself, however, I prefer to do things that require thought. If I'm drinking alone, then I've already decided to watch movies for a few hours before going to bed.

i've cut back quite a bit but i still drink nearly every day. it's very difficult for me to sleep without alcohol so i generally have at least three or four during the evening. on the rare occasions when i must go without i have intense dreams and wake up sweaty, although i do feel a bit more lucid. i love alcohol, it brings out the best and worst in me and makes me happy to be sad. my greatest accomplishments and my most embarrassing failures, i regret very little and i'm proud of very little but i have so much to laugh and cry and sing about and i feel very comfortable with my mortality. i think i'll be a drunk for a long time.

My jaw hit the floor. Cuz, yes.

I have nights off more often though. I think it's a result of getting older. Or maturing. Or something else age-related that's worthwhile.
