Not for the faint of heart.
Psyopus. Math metal. Unbelievable musicianship.

'Math metal'? Makes me think of The Darkest Of The Hillside Thicket's 'The Math Song'... It's a solvable equation!

Cool band, by the way. Fits my rather esoteric tastes.

Well, math metal was just some term coined to describe very complex agressive music with lots of time signature changes, tempo changes and general use of dissonance. Doesn't usually yield to analysis upon first inspection.
I'm so tired of repetetive blues patterns and consonant tonality being all that occupies the airwaves.
Don't get me wrong, I like some of that stuff, but I can only handle it in small doses. Yeah, it was a stepping stone on the way to the musical future, but get over it!

Too much S, not enough N for my tastes, if you understand my meaning. I still enjoy it but only on the noise level, not really on the concept level. Meaning the choice of notes aren't really forwarding any idea other than complexity and technicality.

I wonder if you have heard anything like http://212.94.69.75/Nespithe/Demilich%20-%20Nespithe%20-%2008%20-%20Erecshyrinol.mp3"] . This is sort of similar, but more interested in systems intertwining/mutation (often collapsing on themselves) than pure visceral technicality.

From a review elsewhere:

"Active, highly inventive riffs dance around tonal centers and then invert all meaning as they approach an understanding they have defined. Each song shifts and deconstructs in a twisted way only to reveal its gradual plan for self-reformation, with each cycle of thematic peak resulting in a new apex of motif. One might call it "virus study music," as what it traces is evolution of a song from basic principles unique to that song, in an information age version of progressive music."
