So INTP's made their own internet-place because we are so few!Interesting!
I'm Universal! 21 yo. live in Norway.
I found your hidden place by a engine-search, yesterday.
The way to INTP's happiness is to not ask this pfylosofical, unanswerable questions.
Just say to your self I will have my answers when I am dead. Now live your life not observ! God exists! And he wants you to live NOW!
Just to see things as they are is a true wise.
I have a question. Does any one play or played chess seriously?
There are things we INTP's forget to do. Personly I forget to splash toilet after me. How about you?
This is a nice site where you can train to recognize the type of a person just by their look. http://www.socionics.com/vi/vi.htm

I'm a pretty decent chess player ... and getting there with chinese chess ... and I am about 18k in go (which isn't very good...) ... I too have been somewhat surprised at the complete lack of mention of chess here ... but that doesn't matter. (Though I noticed someone has one of my favourite Tal quotes in their siggy).

I don't play many games really, but the last time I played chess, I played against someone who was fairly practiced at it. She beat me the first time, then I whooped her the second time. Yay for learning ;)

Ok Universal, I'll play along. How stupid can I/we really be? Am I/we stupid enough to believe that you are really an INTP? If so, then kudos to you for bringing us knowledge of one different facet of INTP behavior manifesting itself. If I/we believe that you are not INTP from just one introductory post? Then, I/we appear to have a much deeper understanding regarding common INTP behavior than you had intially credited us. This would normally lead the casual observer to conclude that you, Universal, have entered this domain well below the lower tolerance limit for...well...you know.

If you are indeed an INTP, then I welcome you with open threads. Hey, what's the fascination with car wrecks anyway?

Actually the decimal point renders the k superfluous since k in electronics substitutes for the point.

Ask Dr. Math (http://mathforum.org/library/drmath/view/64553.html)

Decimal points sometimes become so severely degraded during
the printing process that they cease to have a final
practical value. ... The important thing to note from the above
is that decimal points often become severely degraded during
the printing process and, in their 1975 report, the BSI
recommended that, for component/parameter value notation
purposes, the decimal point should no longer be used and should
be replaced by the basic component/parameter multiplier symbol
(such as V, k, n, µ, etc.) applicable to that value. Thus, in
this system, values such as 4.7V, 4.7kW, and 4700pF (= 0.0047µF
or 4.7nF) become 4V7, 4k7, and 4n7.
As the good Doctor implores, think of the children !

So in Melodic usage he was probably saying 'Que ?, or shorthanding for 'OK!'

Claverhouse :ph34r:

Read the whole article. It's neat. Boring, but neat.

Read the whole article. It's neat. Boring, but neat.

That article has a few words at the beginning, "Here's my take on it..." I did not read further, for those words are not enticing.

anyway, some examples

3.00k = 3000
3.23k = 3230
234.9k = 234900

n, m, k, M, G, etc. are SI (the international standard) multipliers. i.e. you can replace, for example, "k" with "x10^3" or "n" with "x10^-9."

You can write 98 k kg which equals 98000 kg which equals 98000000 g.

Being in a physics class at the moment and also majoring in electronics engineering, I consider myself knowledgeable enough to say I am correct. :D

Also, those examples given "4n7, 4V7" are different because the letter is within the number, so it is notational tomfoolery for 1975 printing, not mathematically or at all meaningful this age.
