Since I've now done about a dozen psychometric tests for various employers etc, all of which categorise me as INTP, I thought I'd better accept the fact & find out what I'm "supposed" to be like.

Have to admit that the profiles I've now read sound just like me - scarily so, in fact.

Anyway, that being the case, I'm curious to know more.......

......so here I am!

Be warned, I do have a very strange sense of "humour" which I'll try to keep under control, at least until you get to know me better.

Looking forward to learning a bit more about myself - and all of us.

I think you'll find that everyone here has a strange sense of humor. Let me guess, a mixture of irony, cynicism, sarcasm, and black humor? Check on all four points four points for me.

All of those plus a touch of surrealism from time to time.

Thanks for the welcome.

Sounds like you already are what you're "supposed" to be like. B)

But how can you tell it's surrealism? Reality is so strange sometimes.
For example, look at the idiot in the White House. THAT it the leader of the 'free world'?

Its *looks to iconoclastic Claverhouse  for spelling approval* is true. I feel much more "normal," since finding this loony group.

Hi There,

Yes I am also quite amazed at all the posts here, I always wondered if I was just some weirdo but it seems we are an identifiable group, though in the minority.
So far all the INTP descriptions match me almost perfectly.
I too have a bizarre( non conventional) sense of humour, the more surreal the better.

On the subject of taking psychometric tests for jobs, is there any chance of being discriminated against for being INTP?

Bye

My healing powers are vast, even over great distance; merely the influence of my having typed on one computer and the words appearing upon yours is sufficient. But I have to harness them. ( Last winter all the electricity went in New York state for a while ).

Unlikely. Any organization sophisticated enought to use psychometric tests for emplyee screening should realize that a mix of different types is optimal.

If anything, your uniqueness as an INTP may work to your advantage.

Of course, if they don't already have an INTP on staff to point out this obvious truism, they may fuck it up. :D
