In her book, “Personality Type: An Owner’s Manual” Lenore Thomson describes the INTP’s mode of thinking, by illustrating an economist joke. Can you relate to being the economist?
There was a chemist, a physicist and an economist stranded on a deserted island with nothing to eat but a crate of tuna. They discussed means of opening the cans, wherein the chemist said, “Let’s put the cans in the water allowing the salt to compromise the tin.” The physicist said, “No, no, no, let’s put them in the sun until the cans burst open.” They both turned to the economist who replied, “Let’s assume we have a can opener.”
People have always been impressed with my creative means of resolving complex problems. Before I was aware of type, I thought everyone looked at things the same way.
