In her book, “Personality Type: An Owner’s Manual” Lenore Thomson describes the INTP’s mode of thinking, by illustrating an economist joke. Can you relate to being the economist?

There was a chemist, a physicist and an economist stranded on a deserted island with nothing to eat but a crate of tuna. They discussed means of opening the cans, wherein the chemist said, “Let’s put the cans in the water allowing the salt to compromise the tin.” The physicist said, “No, no, no, let’s put them in the sun until the cans burst open.” They both turned to the economist who replied, “Let’s assume we have a can opener.”

People have always been impressed with my creative means of resolving complex problems. Before I was aware of type, I thought everyone looked at things the same way.

And here's me thinking "This island will probably have two rocks somewhere... bash the stupid things open..."
Check this article (http://www.ideafinder.com/history/inventions/story080.htm) for some oversights on the part of canned food...

A gambler wanted to improve his luck at the races. So he asked a mathematician, a chemist and a physicist to help him predict the race results.

The mathematician said "If we make a detailed statistical analysis of all the horses past races it should be simple to predict the the horse most likely to win."

The chemist said "If we take into account each horses red blood count, iron level, fitness and diet we can predict which horse should have the highest peak power output."

The physicist said "First we assume a spherical horse in simple harmonic motion. . ."

And yes, I can relate to the economist. I have a can opener in my pocket right now.
