Whilst looking up a quote Google gave me this rather charming page on the Mormons, from one of their enemies: The Utah Lighthouse Ministry.
Apparently in their ceaseless quest to retrospectively baptise everyone who ever existed as a Mormon, they have no limits as to whom they wish to embrace as a man and a brother ( or sister ).

Wow! Not surprising though.
I read into the the LDS a few weeks ago. Mind-boggling stuff.

Since the mid-1990's, there has been a good deal of press about the LDS baptisms by proxy of the dead. LDS baptizes the dead much like Catholics light candles for those in purgatory. Baptizing the dead is less about church rosters than permitting the dead a chance of salvation and forgiveness in the eyes of God. Seeing as Hitler had not been a Mormon in life, he would not qualify for the top tier of (LDS) heaven know as Celestial Kingdom.
Hitler no doubt did "evil" things, but using the rationale[sic] of many religions, you should pray for even your enemies and hate no one, as hate is a feeling owned by Satan. Many people from various beliefs believe you should love the sinner and have only disgust for the sin (no matter how great the sin). Naturally, many evangelicals feel hate towards great numbers of God's creation, mankind, anyway.

Something reciprocated. If the Saints ever baptise me, I'll destroy the whole of Utah with lightning.
Still, your comparison with the RCs may be apposite: one of the greatest difficulties with such creeds is the peculiar belief that the fate of those already gone may be modified by the actions of others temporarily left behind. If you take two souls who engaged in the same crimes and passions, and one gets a load of masses whilst the friendless other has not the same advantage, why should the first pop out of purgatory earlier ? Prayer may bring you into harmony and help in many ways, but it can't alter the decisions made above.
And no-one, Hitler or any other, needs baptism by any group, let alone the LDS, to receive God's Grace. How puny is man, and how strangely he supposes he can dictate fate.
Certainly I don't believe the usual tripe about Adolf, or half of the other horror stories made up about enemy people [ remember the mountains of eyeballs built up by Attila the Hun ? ] [ Although probably, an eighth to a quarter of reported atrocities are possibly true ]; nonetheless he was a traitor, strike one, and made many decisions which caused great suffering, strike two. I am prepared to admit that he might reach Paradise once purged of his sins, but I don't want to have him sitting next to me, if I get there too.

Definitely the "if "section. I'm not likely... but then, who is?
