View Full Version : Measure the speed of your brain

I got 41 milliseconds, which is not the top score for my age bracket, but is still pretty good, considering the average for my age is 68 milliseconds.

I am disappointed in myself - I could kick myself every time I got one wrong.

(You will need headphones or good speakers and a quiet room for this test)

32 milliseconds first time and I'm... somewhat intoxicated. :rocker:

I wish there was a little bit deeper explanation.

127.

Which is not surprising, given that I often have trouble understanding people when they talk to me. Yay! Maybe I'm brain damaged!

I got 35.

wtf, I got 35 and have an auditory processing disorder, now I'm just puzzled, though I know this test isn't supposed to be taken too seriously. (one above top performer in age range)

Dont worry its not your brain speed that counts but your reaction time. Every noticed that huge stone flying in your direction.

56 here. I know that in at least half a dozen instances, I knew which buttons to push, but clicked them in opposite order. I had other noise going on around me at the time. Too lazy to bother setting everything up nicely just for a quick test. I don't know how that might factor in.

I had tubes put in my ears when I was very young. Before that, I couldn't hear much of anything. I was reading lips. I still have a hard time making out conversations and do some lip reading to compensate, but studies have shown that I hear best in ranges well above and well below the normal hearing range - especially well above. For instance, I once heard the high-pitched squeal of a camera flash that had been left on inside the camera case, which itself was inside a backpack tucked under the passenger seat in my car. I was driving with a couple of friends down the interstate, windows down, radio up, and I was the only one who could hear it. My friends both thought I was crazy until I pinpointed it.

I'm 24 years old:

But where does this score fall within my age group? The scatterplot that it displayed wasn't particularly helpful.

"Your score is 27 milliseconds
in auditory processing speed

This can be thought of as your current 'Brain
Speed' for listening. Click continue to find our
how your speed compares to others your age."

I'm 17

That test took me like all of 3 minutes.

[After checking the chart I've gotta say holy CRAP I did not expect to be more than twice as fast as my peers.]

I didn't do the test yet (mine stuck at 50% d/l for some reason)
but in real life, I think our intp brain speed would be drastically slower on average.
So tell me, who here actually put as much effort to concentrate everyday as they did on the test? Just to prove themselves that they COULD, you know >_>

It was the grey line through the scatterplot. That represents the average for your age group.

46. Average. What the fuck does it mean and why do I get the feeling it doesn't matter?

I scored 25 the first time and 26 the second time. It appears my brain speed is decreasing.

Annoying when it didn't register a few of my clicks and I had to make blind guesses as to which one.

Hahaha, dammit. Halfway through the first test, I realized I wasn't paying attention any more, just pressing the buttons randomly. Damn my ability to foc.. oh.. a ball!!! Let's get that ball before ... whoo! Did you see that bird, flew right past my hea..ah see the butterfly, let's catch it!!!

Edit: Sometimes I fear I might be ENFP after all. :)

30. I was on a roll until the very end. I missed one and broke my flow.

I wonder if people who are musically inclined score higher on this test?

I finally managed to keep my focus through the entire test. 36 ms. And 34 the second time and 49 the 3rd. Seems it's both about luck, mouse skill, concentration, strategy and brain speed.

"Your score is 26 milliseconds in auditory processing speed."

Well, at least I know? Otherwise, meh.

Huh.

Then again, now I somehow wonder at the fact that I was able to understand the near-gibberish of the "Laura En America" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uxp3Rrgt8Fc) show. It's in Spanish, and it's sorta like a "Maury-Meets-Jerry Springer-Meets-Cheaters" sort of show. At the beginning of this clip, the speakers don't speak all THAT fast [IMO], and they then start their rapidfire Spanish when the hidden camera shot starts. And Jebus, even I can barely decipher what the guy says after 1:33 [hidden cam], and I'm fluent in Spanish!

Then again, that's if you decide to take a look at it. If you know Spanish, study it, or have anything to do with the language, feel free to check if you can actually understand their rapidfire Spanish~

Shit, I can't wait to try this out! It'd really surprise me if I got anything even moderately fast. My mind is slow - but powerful.

Yeah, that's what happened to me too, but I just made a search, and was able to find the current page for that test.

Hm, turns out to be 31ms. I suspect that listening to these whistles is a lot easier to me than listening to actual speech.

24 ms. Someone drilling behind me and a misclick answer, too, so I should probably try again in a quieter environment.

I could see how this relates to my musical interests.

I wonder if this also relates to how fast you talk yourself. I'm known for speaking extremely fast and Ifrequentlyhaveentirestatementsthatturnintoonebigfastblurredconundrumofspeech. Personally, I just think I'm trying to get the socializing out of the way as quick as possible.
