I am going to make a complex online text and graphics game. Does anyone have any techniques for learning cgi.

if it's web based.. use php, it'd be easier.. or maybe python which is supposed to be pretty easy.

jittus rye, I did a quick trace of your tree man. I'm not sure what you want it for, but if you want it as different sizes I have it as a vector image.

I could draw it on my computer, but I'd really rather not...I'm sure it'd be an awful mess to clean up.

Can I ask what program you used to do that, how to download the program, and any hints ? That is just what I'm looking for. I am using a combonation of php and javascript for my game.

I used adobe illustrator. I just added a layer and traced, it only took a few minutes. If you're serious about doing illustrations on a computer I'd recommend getting a good tablet. I used to have one and it made things so much easier--it felt like drawing with a pencil, and was even sensitive to pressure. It isn't as easy with a mouse or a laptop touchpad (in my case).
