I'm helping FC with the design elements of the forum. I have some ideas already but I need help. Specifically, I want all of your favorite quotes that you think describe the INTP mentallity (humorous, thought-provoking, characteristic of the type, etc) They can be from a famous person but not necessarily. Don't be humble, if even you have said something that would qualify, let me know. Include the quoted person's name as you would want everyone to see it.

Here's my favorite and one of my own...but you've got to know that Jung was INTP to really enjoy it:
Want to claim you've got the real deal in a Jung forum? Good luck getting anyone's attention here long enough to help you drag your cross up the hill...

i love symbolism in this meaningless world.
sometimes i feel that the world is too beautiful for me...
i have some more quotes, some that i really liked, that may just be lost forever in the confusion and unreliability of life.
and by beautiful i mean innocent, obliviousness, etc., of the people.

You guys aren't specifying names enough. If it's clear to me that it's yours, but you dont give your real name, I'll put your forum nick. If you don't put anything, like Dengarm, although it seems likely that's his/hers, I might not include any name with it. Also, know that I'll probably not choose any signatures that are PRESENTLY being used, unless I'm hard-pressed for quotes. It seems a little redundant.

Frank Herberts Dune was mentioned in one of the other threads. It lead me to find this page of quotes the other day.

I will find some way to use it, it rules. Although I can't identify with it since everything I say is great and everyone knows it.

Here is mine tonight from a chat room. I saved it.
"I'm an INTP - tons of ideas but no follow through, and no social skills so I can network and get my ideas put to use."
You have permission to reword it and make it more concise.

'My definition of a philosopher is of a man up in a balloon, with his family and friends holding the ropes which confine him to earth and trying to haul him down.'
- Lousia May Alcott
I don't know who she is/was, the quote was in my Ethics book, but I think it also defines an INTP pretty well.
Also the quote in my sig is pretty good.

Of course, I've accidentally quoted myself instead of editing myself so it's not the best idea to have the 'quote' button right by the 'edit' button. I try to catch all of my mistakes but I'm sure there are some horrible ones somewhere on this forum.

A few from Einstein:
Imagination is more important than knowledge.
If we knew what it was we were doing, it would not be called research, would it?
Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.
If you are out to describe the truth, leave elegance to the tailor.
Then there's my contribution wherein I quote someone quoting someone else who quote Emersons quote about quoting.
"By necessity, by proclivity, and by delight, we all quote. ... (R. Emerson)" -- Quoted from a fortune cookie program (whose author claims ... "I hate quotations."
