Grief. I've got a $1300 traffic ticket....
Has anyone here had a ticket that was more expensive?

The most I've ever been ticketed for is 27 dollars (parked on a street during street-sweeping)

Never had one like that. I wanna know what happened too. I did manage to get out of one that would have been bad. Driving 30mi over the seed limit in a downpour at a blind intersection. Luckily he didn't clock me about a quarter mile before, I was doing 90 instead of just 60.

$1300 is not cheap, especially before the holidays. And you can bet they are ticket happy because holidays are coming and the city is too cheap to fund everything.

Get an attorney. Most of the time good ones can get get the ticket reduced. Even if it is a few hundred bucks, it might be worth it if you can get at least get points off.

Nope, none that high. You must've been reckless or something.

Well, I was in a hurry to start with... (45 in a 25)
My tag was expired and my insurance had lapsed.
Neither of which I was aware of...for crying out loud, I sometimes go to work with mismatched shoes on...and I sometimes don't know I'm having a test in a class until 2 or 3 days after the test's already happened.
Can't keep up with everything.

No moving violations, which is surprising, considering I'm a damn maniac. I do 70 through parking lots. I did, however, get a $42 parking ticket once. I stopped by a friend's to house-sit and didn't know it was street sweeping day.
Family record: minimum $2500 after fines and fees and still climbing. Dad's DUI over the summer. And this is mild: he pled out of the two most serious charges or he'd have done some time. Jackass.

$8 parking ticket - sweep zone - missed it by 15 minutes, didn't move it before 2am. Meter lady actually up next to me and blocked me in, then handed me the ticket. Was kinda funny.
But I paid it late, so it went up to $12.
Why are parking tickets so damned high everywhere else? This was in savannah. Somebody here in VA just got tagged for $40. What is up wit dat?

$300 for a speeding ticket. I think it was like 83 in a 55.
It took like 6 speeding tickets over 2 years before I finally got rid of the lead foot (mostly).
Don't even get me started on parking tickets. I probably managed like to get like 20 a year... hmmm 20 x $50 = $1000/year in tickets ugh.
