View Full Version : AVG - Wut's up with it?!?!

Okay,

I have been using Avast! for the last few months, which slows down my machine. I have attempted, twice, to get AVG. I've filled out the form, received the download email, and downloaded the installer. It won't send me the serial number! Isn't it supposed to send me email with the serial number after I've downloaded it?

I just did a fresh windows install on a desktop for my father and attempted to get AVG for it but I'm having the same problem. It has been about 7 hours since I downloaded the program and still no serial number. If you figure this out please let me know!

It's been days, and I haven't received the serial.

Getting a bit annoying, because I can't check my email until I have it installed.

Why not use the free version ( downloadable executable ) ? Either permanently as better men than you are so doing, :D , or as an expedient until you get the email ?

Anyway, why do you need to check all your email anyway ? Only those with attachments are going to be dangerous, and then only if you open the attachments. The rest you can read happily.

In all my life I've only received virii email from one Forum.

I'm trying to get the free version, which is supposed to send a serial number to the registered e-mail address after it is downloaded. I'm stuck at "enter your serial" in setup. My guess is Groty is doing the same.

I think I'm just going to go with AntiVir to avoid the annoyances.

Sorry, when I did it earlier last year that part was omitted or something. Works fine though, although I turn it off half the time to save memory.

Exactly! I'm not receiving the serial number.
