Since this will be done in a few steps (software upgrade, new frontpage, new skin or two, and fixing the odds and ends), we'll just focus on deciding which VB upgrade that we should install:

VB Suite or VB Forum Classic?

I installed a style that's much more compatible with mobile phones. Unfortunately, I don't know how to make it automatically use this theme when it detects a mobile phone, so you have to switch back and forth between the mobile and the default theme as you switch between your phone and your computer. Fortunately, this is very easy. In either style, go to User CP -> Edit Options, and scroll to the bottom. You'll get a dropdown menu that allows you to switch between Default and Mobile.

I'm noticing a pretty common theme here. A few members jokingly have a pseudo-flame war, someone fails to notice all the obvious signs that people are just having fun and that person gets butt hurt and makes some long diatribe about trolls.

Why don't you guys redirect all mentions of "troll" to the troll box. If someone honestly feels a member is a troll they should have some guts and take it to the troll box.

It seems like troll has become a filler word for someone who said something you dislike. I always thought a troll was someone who purposely tries to undermine a forum and drive all the members away.

A specific example of this is outmywindows response to the rant/rave thread and the boxed wine debate. I'm sorry but if you honestly believe social judgments based on peoples shoes, wallet and drinking preferences were "serious" you are just too dumb for words.

An example of a fun pseudo-flame war is me declaring a fatwah on Delihlas vagina. She was bright enough to notice the obvious facetiousness, no one got butt hurt and we both had fun.

Can you guys do something to stop people with aspergers and or poor intuition from screaming troll everytime their sarcasm detector stops functioning?

Find a group of high quality threads. (Classics would probably be a good starting point)
Analyze the threads to find common patterns, etc. (this will take someone or a small group a bit of work)
Create an incentive system so that more of the theoretically high quality threads are created. (maybe gameroom cash for every reply over 50 for threads rated a 3 or greater?)

On a bus, will think about this more later.
