This works on pretty much the same proccess as astrology and palmistry. If you take 12 things, and give 5 descriptions each of which apply to around 50% of humanity, you're almost guaranteed to find SOMETHING that will make them fit.

I do think its neat how many of the fundamentals of hypnotism are used in this theory though.

Umm, if you're pretty sure you're an INFP (MBTI or socionics) then most people identify this as 'empathy.' You're better at reading emotions unconsciously than INTP's can read it consciously.
Thank-you! no one's ever explained it[empathy] to me like that, now it makes sense

Anyways i disagree with the 5 point thing that the author uses to confirm someone is one of the types. Personally I'd suggest the person should have at least 10. I voted histrionic/paranoid because i had 10+ on both.

the author obviously made it 5+ to make sure he could make some good $$$ cause it makes it easier for stupid gossip whores to find things wrong with people they know and they love finding things wrong with people they know

the healthy/unhealthy thing is kinda subjective bullshit i agree... looking back at history not many brilliant people seemed to be healthy and so if we all aspired to be "healthy" there'd be no brilliance.... and indeed we've already begun this trend by prescribing drugs to everyone and their mom for any "imbalances" we perceive

Anyways, i don't have the inclination to go through them all, but it seems to me that nearly everyone will be some type of emotional vampire. I am three of these vampires according to the checklist (if the 5 or more rule applies). In other words, I am like some kind of super vampire. Zero Angel ~ ( Amazing grace && porno flick && jesus christ && dracula )
read my reply right above this one. right from the beginning i understood the system was simplified. I just happen to be one of those people that raises the standards on everthing (anything else would be uncivilized)
and if you use my 10+ house rule i think everything will be much more interesting (and using this rule i've found that i relate to 2 types and so do all my good friends)

If i was using the 5+ rule i would relate to 4 of them.... the difference is pretty much like taking a test that tell you that your IP... and you're like yah who gives a fuck.... and then you take a test and it says you're INTP.... and then you're here talking about stupid shit with me.... haha

Seems to me you're generalizing based on yourself "If I am, everybody is".

And I'm not an "emotional vampire" myself. Not even remotely. And the people I know are also not. (With a couple of exceptions)

Well, I'd certainly say she had marvelous judgment, Albert, if not particularly good taste.

    Everyone's a vampire though, unless they're static.

How about intellectual vampires- seeking and sapping fresh ideas in "abnormal fervor"- people hate em, people love em.

Edit: You always did look a bit supernatural to me Zero Angel. Saskatoon sounds like a cool hometown, almost onomatopoeic. SASKATOON!
Thanks for the comment Sackanacka. That felt awesome for some reason.

I do a lot of inner work, and don't feel this is me. I do see this type in my office, and a little bit in my family.

Anti social is not me. Avoidant IS me.
Anti socials are rebellious and cause problems. Its really unusual to see an antisocial personality.

I'm slightly Avoidant. But if I read the description for Avoidant, its not really all me. I am not "afraid" of rejection, nor do I "fear" what others think. I'm more simply a self chosen loner because I've never found my tribe. Here is the avoidant description, and it doesn't even fit that well:

I do not have persistant anxiety at all, only when I'm having to "Perform" in front of people.
Maybe I have performance anxiety. I do not care whether others are judging me, there is no
fear of judgement, its just a knowledge that when you really are different, introverted, not extroverted, why shouldn't you avoid what doesn't validate you.

Look at the description of antisocial, no way is this most of us:

    http://www.mentalhealth.com/dis1/p21-pe04.html
Interesting. I too am like that but only if its front of a few people and I am not confident in my ability (like guitar playing). If its public speaking or showing off something that I have did well or really know my stuff about then i'm either a complete stage whore, or like a general who can command others with the mere force of his will, with nary a sign of resistance otherwise. It's much easier if you tune others out by pretending your are in a black room with the spotlight on you, ie by practicing enunciation, form, and the idea itself.

It is so satisfying that when you end your spiel, you watch everyone being just blown away and speechless. Like this crazy silent echo of awe when you realize that it was *you* who spoke and *you* who put on this show that everyone enjoyed. It is at that finishing moment when you feel like you're connected to everyone in the room somehow.

I'm about four or five of all but one of them.

It doesn't seem to describe anything special besides jerks. I've KNOWN social vampires, and it just doesn't do the best job talking about them.
