Oh weird. I just guessed at how the youtube tag works and have always been doing it that way since:

    [y0utube]<full youtube url here>[/y0utube]

    works fine

Ah, but I got off several cutting remarks which no doubt did serious damage to their egos.

I haven't seen any problems, I suppose bugs are to be expected. A generally very positive addition.

There appears to be a vertical bar in the example URL which I suspect is or is not getting 'escaped'.

Right, the back-end PHP vBulletin is probably stripping it, because it's generally considered a redirect (pipe).

Piping the youtube link sounds kinda kinky

EDIT: The hack seems to pass the URL on, but vB has security measures to prevent XSS and phishing that likely strip otherwise illegal URL characters - I wouldn't be surprised if Youtube had multiple XSS flaws for allowing them in everyday use.
I may not agree with anything I have said.

So ever since I updated to Firefox 3.0, I've been getting this message:

I do have Flash though, and I just updated it, but it's still showing the message. Anyone have an idea of what could be going on?

Do you have the adblock-plugin installed? If so, uninstall it and replace it with adblock plus. Disabling it won't help unless you disable it by going into menu->tools->add-ons->adblock and choose disable there.

For some strange reason adblock messes up flash on like a third of all sites, don't know why.
    Thread slayer.

Hot, Sexy youtube vid quality tips:

Link direct to the HQ version of the video - Simply append &fmt=6 to the end of the url or video code.

    &fmt22 will make a 1280x720 (HD) AVC output HQ - e.g. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zlfKdbWwruY&fmt=22

To embed youtube HD quality add &ap=%2526fmt%3D22 to the end of the embed code urls.

I think &fmt=18 works best in a few quick tests - I haven't seen 6 work every time, like for example with my beloved Katia Ricciarelli performing Stabat Mater dolorosa / pergolesi.
