    Original British version or American?

I agree with most of those (I've reread those books so many times I've lost count now). Minor changes in bold. Not sure about Dibbler, btw. SP for sure.

I could buy Carrot as ESFJ, but he's so rule-bound (especially at the beginning of the series), dutiful to a fault, and eager to follow orders, how could he be other than SJ? He's usually uncomfortable when Vimes bends the rules a little to get the job done, too.

And I think people who want to know what an INTJ is like should just think "Vetinari". He's the platnoic ideal of INTJness, almost as if he'd been written specifically to elucidate the type.

As you'd imagine, I also have reread these books numerous times (some more than others -- and unlike other writers, Pterry generally seems to get better rather than fading as the series progresses). Some of the especially good ones have actually fallen apart from overuse (notably The Truth, Hogfather, and Thief of Time), and I've had to replace them.

Death of Rats is a hard one to type, but I'd guess SQUEEK.

Death's nose isn't the right shape for INTP.
The beauty of a living thing is not the atoms that go into it, but the way those atoms are put together.

OK, good point. ESFJ, not ESTJ though, at the beginning of the series. btw he and Vimes are my favouritest Discworld characters, with Vetinari coming a distant third.

With Halloween approaching I thought it'd be nice to type NY's finest, The Ghostbusters:

    Peter - ENTP
    Ray - ENFP
    Egon - INTJ
    Winston - INTP

    From original list:

    1. House - INTJ (reminds me of most of the INTJs I know)
    2. Scully - INTP
    3. Mulder - ENTJ (or at least that's the feeling I got)
    6. Hannibal Lecter - INTJ
