Browsing though chosen careers by INTPs, I am amazed at how many maths/science/IT people there are here.
I've taken the MBTI test about 15 times, and shown up INTP more than any other factor (although considerable variation is present). I hate I.T., I flunked it completely, to me it's just mindless imaginary language games, infinitely complex, and infinitely irrelevant to the greater world we are a part.
I've been into anthropology, politics, sociology and psychology from my early teen years. To some degree also the 'paranormal', been in a few new religious movements, existentialism, psychedelic drug experiences, etc.
To confess, I'm pretty well perpetually de-programmed
I JUST WANT TO LET ANYONE ELSE KNOW, I.N.T.P.s who are more into arts/humanities are less likely to use computer forums than INTPs who are science and I.T. In that respect, the careers listed are probably disproportionate to the reality.
Just in case you wanted more concrete proof of that, googlescholar I.T. and myers-briggs types, you won't find INTPs scoring strongest in this employment sector per se--as to where they do score highest, there actually does not appear to be one single definable area they are in.
