    Default The Internet Meme Graveyard

    Well here we are.

I think it's time to put some internet memes to rest, as they've been thoroughly killed by overuse.

If you would like to say a few words about the dearly departed, please rise now and let us allow the meme to rest in peace.

I'm happy those rotten cheeseburger cats are dead. For a moment it looked like they'd be around forever. If any of them ever got used in regular advertisement (something I predict will happen with one internet meme or the other) it would have become unstoppable. (*)

Rickrolling seems to be a thing of the past, which is very good.

    So are Chuck Norris jokes.

I have it on good authority your mother has just found out about them and loves them and is going to email you about them any second now.

She knows me better than that, fortunately. I've been relatively free of laughing baby video clips and Anne Geddes cards up until now.
Now if I could just stop that one guy sending me all the funny powerpoints with women who end up having dicks...

    Ok. Maybe it's wishful thinking...

...but I hope one day something extraordinary happens in a competition, and it can be referred without the words, "epic", "pwn" or "fail".

    Maybe I'm pollyanna.

God yes. I've only recently started adopting "lol", after ten years of refusal... and only very very sparingly. epic pwn fail is awful.

This is a good site that has some of the same ideas as espoused in this topic.
