    Default Does J = Type A Personality and P= Type B Pesonality?

Recently, I've noticed that the qualitites described by type A and type B personalities seem to correlate to those described by the J and P preferences. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_A_personality

Of course, whether or not Type A/B personality theory is itself valid is a related debate, but for the purposes of this particular comparison we shall assume that it is.

In short, it seems that J=A and P=B.

I disagree. I am definitely and INTP, but have had periods of my life where I would be considered type A. J/P has to do with desire for closure or want of open-endedness, but type A is more about ambition, is it not?

Perhaps, although I always see myself as more of a type B. The A just seems more related to J.

... The same way you're definitely an INTP but you've had periods of your life where you would be considered a J.

Type A individuals can be described as impatient, time-conscious, controlling, concerned about their status, highly competitive, ambitious, business-like, aggressive, having difficulty relaxing
hahahaha oh god no. I suppose in the land of the blind the one eye'd man is king and what-have-you, so technically an INTJ can appear that way.... if you've never met an ESTJ,..

Are you saying you're 100% P? Most jobs require you to lapse into a temporary J so IDK about people who claim they're 100% P.

They aren't skills, abilities, or behaviours that you turn on or off depending on the situation. They are preferences on how you deal with the world. You don't switch type. You can mellow out a bit as you age and start to develop your shadow function. But type is set by around the end of puberty, and changes only in rare cases.
