Explication for the folk back home:

Leave the theoretical Rubix cube on a table, red side down (to root orientation). Assume the other colours are blank, one side faces towards you.

The top face (opposite red) has 5 possible combinations for colour.

Choose an arbitrary remaining colour for the face pointing at you (to again root orientation). The face opposite you has 3 possible choices.

There are two remaining colours and blank faces (pointing to the sides). There are 2 combinations on how to colour them.

5 × 3 × 2 = 30.
