Later down the track my client throws a curve ball at me (by informing me of some crucial piece of information I wasn't given to start with), or else I find some other info that casts doubt on my analysis or conclusion. I've become more wary of this now, and am slower to put pen to paper in my work.
This could be more of a result of the way you were taught to write in law school and in practice rather than a strictly J function. Drawing quick conclusions is not good but, when a client fails relate important facts which affects the outcome of the analysis, even a "P" lawyer would be compelled to alter his arguments. Unless you're not probing deeply enough, I don't see this as a flaw.

I didn't know you were a lawyer, SB. I am, too (non-practicing).

Yes, however I've noticed I often have the same tendency in conversation with people (especially those who tend to ramble or take a while to get to their point). I will find myself trying to summarize or editorialize (either mentally or out loud) what they are saying, or leap to a sort of conclusion about where they're heading. I get very impatient if the point seems obvious to me, but they're skirting around it or including a whole lot of unnecessary detail.

I am guilty of this, too. In my work, I find myself saying "just give me the bottom line". What may seem obvious to a J is not necessarily obvious to the P because they perceive differently. My INTPs are able to wrap their head around things and intellectualize in a way that I'm not always interested in doing. But this lends a mesmerizing quality to INTPs. I realize that I'm generalizing here, but the 4-letter MBTI pattern is one big generalization, anyway.

I have a dear friend that is an INTJ. He is so dry with a wonderful sense of humor, but sometimes lacks social skills as one NEVER knows what he might say. We get along famously. Every once in awhile we get into a tussle over some sort of control issue....but we can usually work things out without anyone getting their feelings hurt. I am an ENxJ

I find it interesting that this topic continues to surface. This is old news and tells the reader that the writer suffers from closed-minded certitude.

You mean she's INTJ too?

Edit: Well, so she is.
