plain, simple garak
|
I eat a lot late at night, so I tend to eat a lot of fast food. It gets old. I would buy groceries and cook more, but it seems to get old cooking the same crap over and over. It gets old eating the same fast food over and over too, but at least that's less work.
![]() So what are some eating/cooking ideas? (note that I hate vegetables)

Tortilla chips and bean dip topped with cheeses (at least four different kinds).
Shopping List: -Get a 13x9 dish. Not deep dish. Preferably clear glass and must be oven-safe. -Get 3 cans of refried beans. Doesn't matter what kind (vegetarian is also available). -Get packet of 4 cheese. Pre-shredded Kraft is the best IMO. -Get sour cream (Daisy brand is the best for this, less watery) -Get two packets of taco seasoning. I suggest the spiciest verson, but to each his/her own... -Lastly, you must get tortilla chips, o' course. How to Make: -Open the cans of beans and empty into the clear dish. -Take the packets of taco seasoning and mix evenly with beans. -I suggest adding onion/green pepper/red pepper to the mix if you suddenly have the urge to eat vegetables. Or make a seperate dish w/ these when having guests. They add more texture and taste to this dish. -Put a thin layer of the cheeses on top of the evenly distributed bean dip -Put the dish into the oven and heat at 350 F for about 20 mins. If you want it to heat up faster then heat at 450 F for about 10 minutes. -After the dish is heated and the cheese is melted sufficiently, take it out of the oven. -Place the rest of the cheese on top -Add sour cream on top of that layer or serve separately in another dish if you don't want it to melt with the cheese. -Lastly, you may choose to eat it with fingers or with a spoon, but I suggest the tortilla chip. The stronger the better, otherwise you'll spend a heck uv lotta time with broken pieces everywhere. This is quick, easy to make and for the lazy cooks out there. I've made this a lot and can attest to the fact that it tastes damn good too. :D Edit: With three cans you'll have more than enough for a few days. This dish can be re-heated repeatedly; just don't put the sour cream on top then.

- bread with molten camembert
- minced meat, pickles. Lots and lots of pickles until your stomach almost turns inside out from the spicyness. Spicy food is good midnight food. - Salami. Cheese. Bread. -> Microwave |

Someone mentioned quesadillas. I'll go ahead and second that, and I'll add in that you don't even have to grate your own cheese. Grated cheese, even good quality grated cheese, is available at virtually any grocery store. You can go beyond the realm of traditional quesadilla ingredients, too, and customize them to your personal taste.
Another suggestion I have is to get to know an xSFJ who lives close to you, keeps similar hours to you and is willing to cook for you. Several nights a week, I get free food (and occasionally entertainment in the form of Scrabble games or her superior television) from such a person, and it really beats cooking for myself. xSFJs like doing stuff for other people, and will insist on doing all of the cooking and cleaning, so you're just giving them what they want when you come over and make use of your acquaintanceship/friendship. |

turkey wrap dealie
- tortilla - deli meat (turkey/ham, whichever) - ranch dressing - cheese - fill inside of tortilla with meat of your choice then some cheese, stick in microwave for a bit, take it out, pour some dressing on then wrap it up.. or just use the dressing as dip. maybe get some hot sauce on there too old school macaroni and cheese - elbow macaroni - cheese - boil macaroni, then sprinkle shredded cheese on it when it's ready, hopefully the cheese will melt a little bit then you can eat it. cherry vanilla pudding - cherry syrup - vanilla pudding - follow instructions on box then spray in the cherry syrup goodness I want to try this but instead I'm just posting it in this thread ham and eggs - cut up ham into little bits - sprinkle into eggs while they're cooking |

Sometimes I go for "shakes". Frozen fruits, milk or substitute, and a suppliment containing what I don't intake otherwise. So, you clean a blender and that's about it. I fall into this pattern normally in the summer.....it's hot where I live, so "hardy" meals drain more energy than it's worth.

Buy a package of corn tortillas and some cheddar cheese...if you liked vegetables I'd suggest avocado and tomato too...great snack...grate some cheese on a tortilla and toss it in the microwave for about 12 seconds. You'll still get that fast food fat, but it won't cost as much!
Easy Shepherd's pie: Buy a package of ground beef, a package of frozen vegetables (you won't even notice them, I promise!) a packet of brown gravy mix and some instant Betty Crocker mashed potatoes....butter is the best. Cook up the ground beef, drain it, follow directions on the gravy package then add it to the ground beef, add the frozen veggies (really you won't notice and they are gooooood for you) put the whole thing into a casserole dish. Follow directions for mashed potatoes, and then put them on the top of the meat stuff, cover it with foil and put it in the oven for about 30 minutes. If you want you can grate cheese for the top. I know it sounds like some work, but you can eat it over a period of days--microwave it..yummy! Grilled cheese with deli ham or turkey is really good too. I've made myself hungry by posting this....

Quesadillas are all you need if you can muster up the motivation to grate your own cheese.
