Default Identifying NTs/NFs

Due to the fact that I want to increase my social circles with Ns, is there a way I can quickly identify them? Are there characteristics that can be quickly observed that clearly indicate that someone is probably an N?

Females are NFs and males are NTs.

I think Ns are fairly easily spotted in conversation. Listen for the insightful mental leaps, the seemingly unrelated, often humorous, tangents, the desire to go deeper in a search for meaning, and possibly the air of absentmindness. Perhaps, they can be spotted by a look in the eyes at times. An appearance of contemplation. Clutziness. They are the dreamers, the thinkers, the artists, the advocates, the idealists, and the skeptics. Listen for puns and use of double entendre, too.

These are sterotypes... Detecting N versus S is probably the hardest trait to detect.

Some of the things mentioned above may indicate - but it is neither definitive nor all that accurate.

S's tend to think in specific and absolute terms - example - S Types love statistics - what's proven
N's tend to think in relational terms - example - N Types love governing dynamics - what is possible

Again - it is not all that simple (except when the attribute is extreme).

Your're right, they are. But I'm not sure how else to reply to a thread that asks about N-type characteristics. I got the feeling that Imperator 055 was looking for specific clues. Eh, I'm no expert. And of course, I know it's not that simple. I am just saying, personally, that I can tell fairly quickly when I meet a person who is at least a moderate N. It's true that I may not be able to tell so easily when that person is borderline S/N.

Yeah, that's probably true. I admit that I have a difficult time understanding NXJs. Something tells me that there's a basic temperament thing (NT, NF) that would still set that person apart in the area of humor and conversation, but I realize that the J is way out of my league. I am nearly 100 % P (unfortunately, I suppose).

waxwing pretty much wrote everything.
The Ns try to bake in humour in what they say. When I'm joking around my ENFP friend gets it. The ESTJ says "act like a human, become a human".
When I meet new people some respond with interest, they get my jokes, they found a guy similar to them. The others think I'm a nerd.
